I’ve said it before while he was here. He is your next John Stockton. Whoever puts him on the floor first will have a better team and likely an NBA all star when all is said and done. What he lacks in physicals is made up many times over by extraordinary basketball skill applied with uncanny vision, intuition and floor presence.
Wow. That's pretty high praise. Stockton was like Mr Clinic and making it all look easy. I can see there is similarity in how interesting they are/were when they are/were on the floor. I hope you're right because Cam gives everything every night.
Like Stockton he would be very good as an ambassador for the game.

Interestingly, Cam's brother, Pat (the one who is one of the best lacrosse players of all time), is also getting NBA minutes this season with the Golden State Warriors. Pat Spencer Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Draft Status and more | Basketball-Reference.com

I can't even imagine how hard someone has to work to go from not even playing basketball for most of your college career (he did play a grad year of basketball at Northwestern) to playing in the NBA.

Someone already mentioned it but Cam (and his brother) deserve a Netflix special. What they have done to even play 1 nba minute is almost hard to believe

No doubt, the Spencer’s are workers, but the talent is the secret sauce. They can play. People just discount their athleticism.

Too many people look at athleticism as running really fast, jumping really high, being really strong. Jokic isn't winning any running and jumping contests and he's by far the best basketball player in the world. Same goes for Cam Spencer. You give the Spencer's a racket, a soccer ball, a golf club, a lacrosse stick or a football and they are going to excel at any of those sports. They're just athletes.

Mike Anthony caught up with Cam and his brother, Pat. Good article.

Cam last season petitioned the NCAA for an extra year of eligibility, trying to return to the Huskies this season, but was denied.

“Wanted to make it happen but I'll be a Husky for life, for sure,” he said. “I think they have a ton of potential. Obviously the best coaching staff in the country. A lot of new pieces, new faces, new guys, new roles. They're trying to put those pieces together, this team. There’s nobody better to do that than Coach Hurley and that staff.”

You apparently missed the point of my post .
The similarities were that even as a teenager the refrains for Cam were
“Yes your a good HS BB player but not a prospect for college”
“Sure your good a a low major but you won’t make it at a real high basketball level”
“Sure your a decent major college player but you not suited for the NBA no one is going to draft you. “ Cam’s 5-6 years into the journey and has already achieved beyond any predictions for his teenage self.
So his age and level of success now is only relative and irrelevant to the theme.
Spencer’s doubts started at 17-18
Gretzky’s at 13-14 when they play juniors
by 19 a Canadian kid has been playing various levels of professional hockey for 4-5 years.
Wayne in his interview was reflecting on the people , some alleged experts , who told him he wouldn’t succeed at the next higher level on his accent . Unless you think he lied in the interview these stories have a similar ring to.them.
Yeah, I still don't get this one.
