Also a good time to change the batteries in your battery operated clocks and your fire/smoke alarms.

Thank you to the mod that cleaned up the title. I forgot the "OT" :)

I wish there was a dislike button for this thread - not because I hate the thread I just hate daylight savings going away. I think changing clocks make very little sense. I suppose if following the sun then standard time is the correct variation based on UTC. I guess I could live with that year round if I could just change my internal clock to see as much sunlight as possible.

You should consider moving to Arizona or Hawaii, the two states in the U.S. that don’t observe DST.

As for me, I love that extra hour lying in bed.

Does the change in time really affect you when you've retired? I know it's ten pm because the news is coming on and I know it's nine am because my wife tells me coffee is ready.

In a word.........................NO! :D

if you like to sleep late it will since it gets light earlier...

The real root cause of the problem isn't changing the clocks, it's the sun. Can't someone do something about that?? BY'ers should organize...

in 2020, I would not try to tempt fate.

I am not sure we need the daylight saving now.
I don't like the extra 2 times to adjust the clock.
But I am not an expert to judge this so I will just follow it.
Personally I'd prefer staying on DST all year around. Not a big fan of EST, much prefer AST around here anyway.

Europe changed the clocks last week. All the soccer games are an hour later today.

Yeah, but I hate it getting dark so early in the evenings.
Yeah. But just think about all those happy evening dinners after the Dukies have won their 6th or 7th in a row and are on the verge of being on the Dance card.

When I played golf regularly I could tee off at 7:00pm with a cart and get in 18 before it got too dark.
