GO HUSKIES!!!

That's a shame.

They flamed out, just two games away from being proclaimed: "One of the Top 70 Teams In the Nation"

PC has everyone, but Council back next year. If Ledo (who most PC fans say is the 2nd coming of Oscar Robertson) comes in, and the guy they kicked our @$$e"$ for, plays like they say he will. And, with a weakened BE, w/o Pitt, 'Ville, 'Cuse & UConn (who beat them twice this year) PC should make their 1st NCAA tourney in 10 years.
Should they fail to make the tourney Mr. Cooley should be fired. And it's on to the next sap!!

Can someone please tell me why every PC game appears in gold on the ESPN.com scoreboard? I noticed it going back to our last game.

Maybe because thecity of Providence is headquarters for cheap jewlery companies.
Most of the crappy jewlery we try to give our wives (sig other) mas made in beautiful Providence.
As far as the gold on ESPN's scoreboard, I have no clue. I never noticed that.

Gold means, you hit the Favorite button as a team to follow. How dare you!

Those PC fans need a reality check. Went there after the game and one guy was raving about a Baylor player being greeted by God Shamgod postgame. He said the kids expression made him think that the players rever God as a God!!!! What is Ray/Kemba then to these kids????? Another poster simply says "Great team, Great future". Great teams don't play in the NIT and you are losing the BE alltime assist leader. Seems to me that a PG is maybe the most important part of a team today-look how UConn faired w/o Bazz! Hillarious reading what these guys post...

WHat you dont understand is that ShamGod is also a playground legend. Guys like Kenny Smith regard him as having the best handle in the modern game. Council is a loss, however, Dunn has been playing much better and Ledo is a difference maker. PC returns the BE leading scorer, most improved player and adds a top 50 frosh. Add in the transfers and PC has depth. Something they havent had in a while.

BTW, Baylor played in the NIT a few years back as a young team and followed it up with an Elite 8 run.

Congrats to PC. Really a nice run this year. Something for them to aspire to in the future.

They've certainly got their program moving in the right direction. If Ledo is declared academically eligible next season (and that's a big if), they'll have four top 100 recruits (Derosiers, Ledo, Dunn, and Austin), a lottery pick, and the returning BE scoring leader in addition to a nice frontcourt with Henton and Batts. They certainly have the talent to make the NCAA Tournament and possibly make a run, the only question that remains is whether Cooley can coach.

Sean, yes he may be a playground legend, but wouldn't you think kids could relate better to a Ray Allen or Kemba Walker who starred in the Big Dance and have had success in the NBA? That is my point. I know he was a good college player. If Ledo plays and is as good as advertised AND everyone else comes back, you guys should be one of the top teams in the new BE. Good luck-esp to my fellow NLer Kris Dunn.

To be honest, ESPN had a PC three-pointer in its top plays yesterday. That was the first time I was even aware they were still playing.

I'm not saying if all 3 guys were there; they wouldnt gravitate to Allen or Kemba. But seeing a guy you've watched highlight reels of in person is pretty cool.

It's a little hurtful to admit but Providence has real reason for hope now.

To their credit the building looked pretty full for Robert Morris earlier this week.

May have looked full but official attendance was reported at 7149. Less than 60% of Dunk capacity.

Maryland fans sort of have an excuse. They've been to 7 or 8 NCAA's since 2000. PC, well....this is a step up for their program after what's happened in the past decade, so you'd think their fans would be fired up.

No issue on the academics. He stayed in school all year and report-ably has a 3.2 gpa. The NCAA no longer has input. Now the pro thing is another issue

I just don't see where Cooley is that good of a coach. KO outcoached him twice this season, with a badly depleted roster. Love me some KO for the long haul.

PC was banged up in the first game; uconn in the second...both games went to OT. Not sure either has an edge yet. Time will tell
