Before I get started, no, not that Providence.

I know it isn't a huge international competition and my little ole Argos aren't on very many people's radar, but this is a HUGE opportunity for these ladies who otherwise wouldn't get to represent their country.

Count me as one who was initially confused.

Any international competition that is supported by USA Basketball is a big deal. Learning that an NAIA school will get a chance and these athletes will get to experience something they'll remember forever is AWESOME! I'm sure this has been a dream for many of their players. They're getting a chance to realize it.

When they changed the name, I said at every opportunity people would automatically think Providence, Rhode Island, but apparently the concern wasn't great enough. :confused:

I'd love to know how/why they were chosen. They're a good NAIA program, but hardly the cream of the crop and are graduating a 5x and 4x All-American. But I'm ecstatic for them and the experience they'll have!
