I'm looking for progress tomorrow night.

Towson was a complete disaster.

Maryland - I was looking for football players. I wanted to see football players in blue and white. I saw them, they showed up.

Michigan - I'll be looking for players again, I know they are there - I"ve seen them.

This time - I want to see a TEAM.

A TEAM can win this game tomorrow night.

Not coaches, not players, not play callers, not cheerleaders, or mascots, or flags or banners, flashing lights and annoying DJ's.

A TEAM can win this game tomorrow night.

I'll be looking for it.

How do we measure progress in a game like this? It's a relative term. For me, holding our own on the line of scrimmage, and a competitive game in the 4th quarter.....that's all I can ask right now.

Ironically, Jimmy, when you can control the line of scrimmage, on both sides of the ball, that's a pretty good way to recognize that your watching a TEAM!!

I'm so excited for this game. I was reading something sportsart wrote recently somewhere about the excitement of the game. There is nothing for me, like the excitement of kickoff. The anticipation leading up to it. The energy. We need to take all the energy and passion that each player clearly put into the Maryland game, and turn that into a team effort this week.

I have a simple question:

If this 2013 team, if we play our best game, can we win this game?

I think yes.

Perhaps that makes me insanely optimistic beyond the confines of reality - to many around here.

But I truly believe that if we take the field, and we play the best game we can as a team, we win - hands down.

Tomorrow night is Michigan @ UCONN. Football.

That's all I've got to say on this. Promise.

Well, if Michigan plays their best game, we don't win the game under any circumstances.

If Akron gets the ridiculous no-call in the endzone they probably win that game. We are better than Akron and we're home.

The bad news for us......Akron almost beat Michigan last week.

That team effort needs to include the 12th man. Sometimes the 12th man can will the team to victory. I've seen it happen before.

I am not sure that even putting 12 players on the field every play will make us competitive in this game.

Whitmer not turning the ball over would be progress in my eyes, or he got another concussion. It's his "TEAM" to lead, so far I haven't seen it. Time to step up CW!
