Nope... but I also don't think many coaches do.

If we were to pay Pasqualoni based on his performance, how much do you think we should give him?

In my opinion we're paying at least one million a year too much. There are head coaches that kicked his ass this season that were fired. He may actually end up owing UConn money.

In the real world Zoo, you and I both know that "who you know" and "experiance" raises the rate of pay despite actual performance. Hell - there are weeks that I think I make too much money for what I accomplished (not often - but occasionally).

We are talking real world. And I know that you would never look me in the eye and say that Paul Pasqualoni is giving us our money's worth.

What will it take for you to say that Paul Pasqualoni has failed to deliver and that he should be replaced? Another 5-7 season? A 1-10 season?

At what point will you run out of excuses for him?

There are worse coaches in the business than PP. He has run a clean program and by many accounts has helped players to be better. His record @ UConn is what it is. If he doesn't get us back to a bowl game this year -he should be replaced.

I think we had to change our offense to move up in the world.

Edsall's schemes were extremely efficient at beating inferior teams and decent at beating similar teams. They absolutely sucked at beating top 25 type teams. And sucked at staying within 30 of top 10 type teams.

I don't mind the suffering if we get on the right track.

I get the feeling that several posters on here would be disappointed if PP went 9-4 next year because that would mean he would be still coaching.

Not me, I would be excited for year 4 and 5.

If we go 9-4 next year I'll drive the band wagon.

This is all apologia. Thinking like this is why we aren't allowed to have nice things.

He's a nice guy? That's your argument?

.-.

I wasn't arguing - you asked a question, I answered.

There's no changing your opinion. It's a dead end discussion. Moving on...

He's already proven that he makes terrible decisions. Even if he brings in better recruits, he'll still make terrible decisions. He is what he is.

You keep confusing proof with the words coming out of your mouth. You weren't a science or engineering major at UConn, were you?

And if you were, then that doesn't bode well for the Science and Engineering Dept.

Do you seriously think he makes good decisions on an actual football field? Maybe you and SDhusky can chip in and send him one of those "How To Manage the Clock in the Game of Football DVDs".

Good Head Coaches don't get directed by their bosses to replace coordinators. Thats what happens to underperforming coaches who are on the brink of being fired.

Time will tell. Pasqualoni's mistakes just prove he's human. Did you see what Saint Saban did with the Miami Dolphins? Nobody's perfect. Turns out coaching is actually pretty difficult. Unless you're doing it from your couch. In which case, you're probably undefeated over the last 3 seasons. Well done, ZooCougar. Third straight Coach of the Year!

Saban wasn't a good fit in the NFL. I think we can all agree he's a pretty adequate coach at the college level.

The fact that coaching is difficult doesn't make it alright that Pasqualoni is doing not so great job here. That's not an adequate apology for his performance.
