For those that are new to the game and others that have forgotten it is requested that discussions other than prognostications of the game should be posted on other threads that your discussion pertains to. If you wish to prognosticate your prediction that is okay if you post your score. The winner/s will be posted soon after the game’s completion.
UConn plays their 37th game of the season against the Notre Dame Irish in the Elite Eight at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX. This is the 56th matchup between the two schools with UConn winning this year’s match-up at Gampel on 1/13/26 85-47. The Irish is coming off an upset victory against Vanderbilt in the Sweet Sixteen 67-64. Only two players scored double figures, Hidalgo had 31 points and Prosper with 15 playing 39 and 34 minutes respectively. They went 28-66 for 42% shooting, 1-17 in 3pt shots for 6% shooting and 10-13 in free throws. Garnered 30 rebounds, had 13 assists and turnovers, 16 steels 5 blocks and 18 PF’s. with only 2 on the offensive boards. All their starters played between 29 and 39 minutes with only 2 bench players getting into the game, Branford with 21 and Sanchez with 8. UConn played one of their worst games of the season and now have a little over a day and a half before their next game and should be ready to play. The Starters played between 13 and 38 minutes and had 5 bench players come off the bench playing between 1 and 22 minutes scoring 22 points. I believe that the Irish will be worn out by the beginning of the third quarter when playing against the Huskies on Sunday and will not have more than 60 points at the end of the game.
All predictions and any changes must be submitted by 12:45 PM Eastern. Any submitted after the cut-off will not be accepted. The game is on ABC. The start time is currently being shown as 1:00 PM Eastern by ESPN.
The winner must be named, either UConn/Huskies or Notre Dame/Irish. No "85-55 the good guys", if there isn't a winning team stated in the prognostication it will not be counted. Once your prediction is posted If you wish to change your prognostication you must submit a new prediction by stating that you wish to change your previous prediction and provide the post number of the original post, NO changing of the original post. If the request for change is submitted prior to the scheduled closing of accepted predictions, you will receive a "like" letting you know that it was accepted and changed. If someone believes that they have been missed, or someone notices that another fellow prognosticator has been by the gamekeeper, then it must be brought to the gamekeeper's attention within 24 hours of the posting of the winner(s) game thread.
I hope that Sarah plays, and I believe that UConn will limit the Irish’s scoring and this game will not be close. UConn will play all available players, and on to the Final Four. Huskies 87 – Irish 55.
