For those that are new to the game and others that have forgotten it is requested that discussions other than prognostications of the game should be posted on other threads that your discussion pertains to. UConn plays their 37th game of the season against the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Sweet Sixteen at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, 5:00 PM ET. This is the 14th matchup between the two schools with UConn losing the first match up on 03/26/94 in the Sweet Sixteen 69-81, The Tar Heels went on to win their only National Championship. They won the next two 77-62 in Richmond VA on 12/2/95, and 94-74 in Storrs on 11/15/01. They lost the next three 65-71 in Raleigh, NC on 11/21/04, 65-71 in Storrs 54-77 on 12/5/05 and in Chapel Hill 76-82 on 01/15/06. The Huskies are currently on a seven-game winning streak, at NC 88-58 on 1/19/09, in Storrs 88-47 on 01/09/10, at NC 83-57 on 01/17/11, in Storrs 86-35 on 01/16/12, in Uncasville 76-64 on 12/10/24 and last year on 11/15/24 69-58. The Tar Heels have played against four teams that UConn has faced this year, vs Louisville 66-76 and 57-65 in the ACC Semi Finals, at Notre Dame 50-73, at Florida State 82-55 and vs Syracuse 77-71 in OT. UConn has won against Louisville on a neutral site 79-66, vs Florida State 99-67, vs Notre Dame 85-67 and Syracuse 98-45. Massey has UConn with a 94%-win probability and a score of 75-58. I believe that Massey is off on the final score.
All predictions and any changes must be submitted by 4:45 PM Eastern. Any submitted after the cut-off will not be accepted. The game is on ESPN.
The winner must be named, either UConn/Huskies or North Carolina/Tar Heels. No "85-55 the good guys", if there isn't a winning team stated in the prognostication it will not be counted. Once your prediction is posted If you wish to change your prognostication you must submit a new prediction by stating that you wish to change your previous prediction and provide the post number of the original post, NO changing of the original post. If the request for change is submitted prior to the scheduled closing of accepted predictions, you will receive a "like" letting you know that it was accepted and changed. If someone believes that they have been missed, or someone notices that another fellow prognosticator has been by the gamekeeper, then it must be brought to the gamekeeper's attention within 24 hours of the posting of the winner(s) game thread.
I hope that Sarah plays, and I believe that UConn will limit the Bluejays’ scoring and this game will not be close. UConn will play all available players, and everyone will score. Huskies 92 – Tar Heels 59.
