For those that are new to the game and others that have forgotten it is requested that discussions other than prognostications of the game should be posted on other threads that your discussion pertains to. If you wish to prognosticate your prediction that is okay if you post your score. The winner/s will be posted soon after the game’s completion.
UConn plays their 32nd game of the season against the Georgetown Hoyas at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville in the Second Round of the Big East Tournament. The Huskies had no problems with the Hoyas in their two previous matchups during the regular season, with an 83-42 in CareFirst Arena in D.C. on 1/22 and 84-52 win at PeopleBank Arena on 2/26. Georgetown is playing their second game in less than 24 hours after their 62-58 win against Butler while UConn is playing their first game of the Tournament, which is a big advantage for the Huskies, like they need anymore. Geno is 54-2 against Georgetown and has beaten UConn twice 65-60 on 1/3/92 in D.C. and 64-62 on 2/27/93 at Gampel. UConn are currently on 42 game win streak in league and tournament play, this game being the fourth meeting in the Conference Tournament in Uncasville, where the Huskies have won the previous meetings 84-38 on 3/5/22, 69-39 on 3/4/23 and 78-48 on 3/11/24. The Hoyas’ worse loss to UConn was on 1/2/01 with 107-45 trouncing in Storrs. I believe that UConn will be on a mission to get #13 and will not be overlooking the Hoyas and bring their A game even with the long layoff.
All predictions and any changes must be submitted by 11:45 AM Eastern. Any submitted after the cut-off will not be accepted. The game is on Peacock.
The winner must be named, either UConn/Huskies or Georgetown/Hoyas. No "85-55 the good guys", if there isn't a winning team stated in the prognostication it will not be counted. Once your prediction is posted If you wish to change your prognostication you must submit a new prediction by stating that you wish to change your previous prediction and provide the post number of the original post, NO changing of the original post. If the request for change is submitted prior to the scheduled closing of accepted predictions, you will receive a "like" letting you know that it was accepted and changed. If someone believes that they have been missed, or someone notices that another fellow prognosticator has been by the gamekeeper, then it must be brought to the gamekeeper's attention within 24 hours of the posting of the winner(s) game thread.
UConn is not going overlook any team they will play in this Tournament and want the Seniors to get #13 and ring #2. Butler will not break 50 points maybe even less depending on how Geno limits the starting five’s playing time. UConn will play all available players, and everyone will score. Huskies 99 – Hoyas 48.
