For those that are new to the game and others that have forgotten it is requested that discussions other than prognostications of the game should be posted on other threads that your discussion pertains to. If you wish to prognosticate your prediction that is okay if you post your score. The winner/s will be posted soon after the game’s completion.
UConn plays their 16th game of the season against St John’s Red Storm at the PeoplesBank Arena on Wednesday, Jan 7th. St John’s is 13-3 and 3-2 in the Big East. Their three BE wins are vs Providence 62-55, at Marquette and DePaul 75-58, while their losses are vs Creighton 52-90 and at Villanova 48-85. Their highest rated Massey win was against #34 Oklahoma St 74-67, and their lowest rated loss was at #81 Harvard 56-61. UConn is 50-5 against St. John’s with their conference record being 9-1, their lone conference loss was a home game in Harford on 2/21/23 64-69. Their largest win a 118-44 shellacking on 2/23/2001 at Storrs and the closest win was way back on 1/6/1992 at the Red Storm 60-55. Massey is giving St John’s a 1% chance of winning and a score of UConn 84 St John’s 44. The Red Storm average 67.8 points a game, while giving up 59.9 points, I believe that UConn will use their suffocating defense and keep them from scoring more than 50 points.
All predictions and any changes must be submitted by 7:15 PM Eastern. Any submitted after the cut-off will not be accepted. The game is on TRUTV.
The winner must be named, either UConn/Huskies or St. John’s/Red Storm. No "85-55 the good guys", if there isn't a winning team stated in the prognostication it will not be counted. Once your prediction is posted If you wish to change your prognostication you must submit a new prediction by stating that you wish to change your previous prediction and provide the post number of the original post, NO changing of the original post. If the request for change is submitted prior to the scheduled closing of accepted predictions, you will receive a "like" letting you know that it was accepted and changed. If someone believes that they have been missed, or someone notices that another fellow prognosticator has been by the gamekeeper, then it must be brought to the gamekeeper's attention within 24 hours of the posting of the winner(s) game thread.
The Red Storm will have major problems on both sides of the court and that UConn will continue their series win streak to 6 and extend their Big East dominance. UConn will play all available players, and everyone will score. UConn 93 – St John’s 45.
