Providence travels to Hartford to play the Husky’s at XL Center, hopefully it will be a sellout with the fans showing support for UConn. Providence is 2-1 in Big East play a 1.5 games behind the Huskies. Their BE wins were at Seton Hall 51-46 and at home against DePaul 72-65. Their loss was at home against St John’s 55-48. The Friars SoS by Massey is #131, average 57.1 points a game, 39 rebounds, 11.9 assists, 7.4 steals, 4.1 blocks, 20.3 turnovers, 41.1 FG%, 65.9 FT%, and have a 29.4 3pt%. Their best win was against Seton Hall, Massey rated #71 and worst loss was against Iona, Massey rated #259. Offensively they are ranked 252nd while defensively they are ranked 51st vs UConn being ranked 5th in offense and 7th in defense. The only thing that UConn might have some problems with is size, and with Aubrey sitting out it might hinder the Huskies.
Providence has 10 upperclassman, 3 SR's and 7 JR's, with 1 SO and 5 FR, so they are an experienced team. The starters for the game against St. John’s were Olivia Olsen F 6’3” JR who averages 27.8 min, 14.7 pts, 8.7 rbds and 1.9 blks. Bryan Farrell G 6’ SR averages 27.8 mins, 10.1 pts, 5.3 rbds and 1.7 ast. Marta Morales Romero F 6’1” JR averages 28.4 min, 7.2 pts, 4 ast and 2.3 stls. Laryn Edwards G 5’6” SR averages 25.9 min, 4 pts, 2.5 rbds and 1.7 ast. Emily Archibold F 6’ JR averages 3.5 pts, 4.9 rbds and 1.6 ast. They had 5 bench players also play in the game for a total of 44 minutes scoring 10 point and clearing 5 rebounds. Over the last 5 DIV 1 games UConn has averaged 89.2 pts while giving up 58.6 while the Friars are averaging 51.6 pts and giving up 56 pts.

- I don’t see UConn having any problems with the Friars, they will wear them down by the end of the 3rd qtr and get another conference win. UConn 92 – Providence 44.
