For those that are new to the game and others that have forgotten it is requested that discussions other than prognostications of the game should be posted on other threads that your discussion pertains to. If you wish to prognosticate your prediction that is okay if you post your score. The winner/s will be posted soon after the game’s completion.
UConn plays their 2nd game of the season against Florida State in Gampel at 4:30 P.M. Eastern this Sunday. FSU is 2-0 with wins against Florida A&M 112-39 and Georgia Southern 80-72 both on their home court. This will be the 11th meeting between the two teams with UConn winning the previous 10. The closest win was on 11/14/2016 at FSU with a 78-76 win while the largest win was on 3/30/2010 in the Elite Eight in Dayton, OH 90-50. UConn has averaged 81 points a game vs 60 points a game for FSU. This will be the first home game for the reigning National Champions, and I believe that the UConn fans will be loud and help the Huskies celebrate their raising of banner #12. The team may be a little jittery at the beginning because of the celebration activities at the beginning but I believe that they will win going away in the end. FSU has only 3 players returning from last year’s team, losing 70.1 points, 32.3 rebounds, 11 assists, 7.4 steals, 5 blocks and the playing time average of 149.5 minutes. They only averaged 86.9points, 40.3 rebounds, 13.3 assists, 9 steals, and 5.9 blocks. With 7 of their 10 players being guards they are thin at the forward and center positions. Pania Davis is a Junior 6’6” center from Perth Australia, who is a JR College transfer from New Mexico JC, and the two forwards 6’3” JR Avery Treadwell returnee and 6’2” Allie Kubek a Grad Transfer from Maryland.
All predictions and any changes must be submitted by 4:15 PM Eastern. Any submitted after the cut-off will not be accepted. The game is on FS1.
The winner must be named, either UConn/Huskies or. No "85-55 the good guys", if there isn't a winning team stated in the prognostication it will not be counted. If prior to the closing of the Prognosticator’s Predictions, you wish to change your prognostication you must submit a new prediction by stating that you wish to change your previous prediction and provide the post number of the original post. If the request for change is submitted prior to the scheduled closing of accepted predictions, you will receive a "like" letting you know that it was accepted and changed. If someone believes that they have been missed, or someone notices that another fellow prognosticator has been by the gamekeeper, then it must be brought to the gamekeeper's attention within 24 hours of the posting of the winner(s) game thread.
After seeing what FSU did their first two games I believe that they will struggle against UConn’s offense and defense which will limit Alex Giannaros scoring and this game shouldn’t be close. UConn will play at least 10 players, and everyone will score. UConn 88 – FSU 60.
Attached is a copy of the Prognosticator's Predictions Rules and Scoring System – Tournament criteria, please read it so that you are familiar with the game rules. Good Luck to all you Prognosticator's out there and have some fun.
