Vanderbilt has already lost to North Alabama at home 74-71 and @ Middle Tennessee 65-58. I know UConn is better than those two teams. Austin Peay is 1-2. The two 6-5 post players Vandy has didn't keep them from losing against 2 programs that were probably similar in talent and strength to theirs. Looking at their box scores, Vandy only went 8 deep in all 3 games.

Vandy is one of those teams that hangs around in games but eventually loses. That won’t happen against the Huskies as UConn will come out pressing the Commodores, force lots of TO’s followed by a layup drill.

I was pretty close on the offense prediction for UCONN for the game vs. tOSU, but I missed how much tOSU would score by over 10 (I predicted too low). I think this game will be similar to tOSU - UCONN gets a big lead, then it's somewhat even the rest of the game.

Reason being, I think Geno knows he needs to work subs in. I bet starting in the 2nd quarter, be brings in at least 1 and maybe 2 or even 3 subs to play with the starters. I think he wants to see how they mesh and how they play (ie. intimidated? play in the flow? try to do too much or too little?).

Geno throws ONO to the wolves (well Commodores actually) Saturday to see if she can get her motor started against someone her own size. Prediction is that result will be mixed but UConn wins anyway 92-57 with Mikayla getting a lot of playing time working the point. I hope the only sub that seems to never shoot (Molly) fires up some points as the bench will get plenty of action.
