Prognosticators Game 16 (@Tulane) Predictions

This Wednesday will have the AAC will have the four undefeated conference teams whittled down to two. Tulsa (3-0) at UCF (3-0) and UConn (3-0) at Tulane (3-0). I believe the winners will be UCF and UConn. Congrats to Lou for hitting the 2,000 point plateau and to the bench for their improved play in the USF game. We can't overlook Tulane and I don't think the Seniors will let them considering that Tulane gave UConn their closest Conference game in American history. With that being said I predict UConn 92 - Tulane 56. Remember all predictions must be in by game time 8 PM Eastern or 5 PM Pacific. Good Luck to all the players.

Tulane is 13 - 3 on the season...not bad record, although their schedule has not been significantly strong. Massey has this game as UCONN 74, Tulane 49, with a 98% chance that UCONN wins.

I'm thinking this is 1st game following a "flat start", "Hockey-type line change," "embarrass the starting 5" game... SO, the starting 5 will want to "show better", the Seniors will insist on energy and aggressiveness, Geno will not let them forget that "on any given night"... and we will see a solid offensive and defensive game from our Huskies.

This UCONN team has been Jekyll and Hyde this season. They looked like world beaters downing Depaul and ND, and then crushing SLU and Seton Hall. But since then aside from Cinci, where they played SJU, Cal, Oklahoma, Houston and USF much closer than they should have. I'd say the team has regressed and I don't know the reason.

Geno says it's because kids have changed and now you have to "make suggestions as to what you want them to do rather than demands". Not sure how much of that is tongue in cheek, but this team is an enigma.

Tulane has given UCONN some good games in the past. I don't think these guys are like Cinci where it will be a blowout. I'm thinking about 25 point win. UCONN's offense has often been sluggish specially when teams slow down the pace and force us to play mostly half court offense. Not sure what it will take for the team to get its' mojo back...

I figure that if I lower expectations maybe I can alleviate some of the post-game bitching and griping from the crowd that believes a 20 pt UConn win is a travesty....

Just as aside, former President of Tulane Scott Cowen roomed across the hall from me at UConn, at TKE fraternity. From Wiki:

I mean I know Lisa is having a good year at 13-3 but Massey has her #62 and her SoS is 121. I also know just because they gave us a scare ONCE, does not mean they have our number. I don’t get it-what gives?
