This 100% will be postponed. Its not ideal, and I do not want to see anybody get shut down due to Covid, but given our situation with Bouknight still out, this may work in our favor. The more games that are pushed off to when Bouknight is back will most likely help us in the long run.

Man we cannot catch a break! Are we even going to make to 13 games?

frustrated will ferrell GIF

Am I dreaming this? Or did I see that the Big East built into the schedule a week where games can be played that were previously postponed?

There is going to come a point in the season where we simply cannot fit any postponed games into the schedule to make up. In fact, we may already be there. I keep reading reports that the NCAA isn't going to postpone the tournament. It feels more real than ever now, that we will almost certainly play less than 20 conference games sadly.

Repeat -
If they don't change the current protocols, then the odds are very strong that the season is going to get s--tcanned.

They should keep canceling games, keep following strict Covid protocols and/or push back the season until we have a vaccine. Oh, wait...

Is there any place where we can bet on games getting canceled. We've got to be able to bet on something

Let’s do what other teams have done use covid as an excuse till we get Bouk back it’s dirty but everyone else is playing dirty too.

Do what I’ve been saying all along and push back the ncaa tournament 2 to 3 weeks -give every conference a nice little window to make up all the games they have to make up -they can start the tourney in early april- still don’t understand what the rush is to Jam the tournament in on the regular starting dates. are they gonna have to cancel a Madonna concert that’s pre booked? I’m confused as to why this is not already automatic as u have some teams who have played 8 games and some who have played 18

I thought I read that the NCAA was using 16 games as the minimum to qualify for the tournament. Unless Duke only plays 12. Then they will make an exception.
13 games is the minimum requirement, although the part about Duke is probably accurate.

They did. Feb 1st > 5th and 21st > 26th were open.
Our game @ Gtown got moved into 2/24.

Why would they be able to make up games in that window as opposed to the current window?

There are still a couple windows (Feb 18 and first week of March if I recall correctly) where it appears feasible for UConn to play make-ups. Or course this depends on opponent availability.

I appreciate the argument of many posters about postponing everything until Bouknight returns. On the other hand, playing at least some games now a) spreads out the schedule to reduce fatigue right before the conference tournament, and b) affords more reps for role players now.

Why would they be able to make up games in that window as opposed to the current window?
Because in the current window UConn has only played 9 games. This buys them 2 more weeks to squeeze in more games. If u have to fit in 13 games over a one month span , isn’t it easier to get 13 games in over a month and a half? Our February schedule already getting super tight - UConn might be heading into March with no more dates/room to make up games. An extra 2 weeks cud give them the room to fit in 4 more games. Shoot, Butler already going to get cancelled and prolly a couple more. It’s crazy for every 1 game we play, one gets cancelled. And this buys us more time to get our full big East schedule in. We already got screwed in December in our non conference games. What’s the possible negative to buying us two more weeks down the road into mid March?
