there is a guy on this years team, you may have heard of him. . . goes by the name ryan boatright.
he committed to usc and decommitted. committed to west virginia and decommitted. then he committed to UConn and we all know how that worked out. kids commit and decommit, it is part of the game at this point, just like transfers. Prince might end up back with us and that would be great. If he ends up at Michigan or UCLA, I will just be rooting against him if we play them, and we will have another suitably talented player on our rister in his place. no need to hate so much on the kid.

(unlike many others on this board) I don't hate Prince for decommiting, and would welcome him back with open arms. If you think about it from his perspective, he is only trying to do the best for himself and his family, the same as anyone else would do.
I agree, but there's always the possibility that KO has zeroed in on another recruit he likes better for the ship that PA would have taken. If still highly interested in UConn, he runs the risk of no longer being KO's top priority at that position, or another equally talented or more talented recruit could snatch up that ship before he's ready to recommit. It does happen when a recruit commits again to a program, but that's not usually the norm. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I'm not counting on him being here, but if it does happen, I'll welcome him with open arms.

The fact that he decommitted early, had little to no impact on other recruits interesting in UConn. If he had decommited late in the process, I, and likely many others, would not be so unforgiving. But since he opened things up early, I have no problems with what he did and wish him the best wherever he lands.

Mods delete this thread, it's not needed, we are Uconn and fans don't worry about decommits or players that transfer out.
I think the original poster is encouraging Prince Ali to recommit and follow Jalen. Nothing negative about Ali in the post or thread - YET.

With all the kids UCONN is recruiting, and I may have missed it, what other SG's are high on our list, and what other SG's are high on UCONN? Seems like the only other one who is rated higher than Ali is Briscoe.

Nothing against the young man…

That said, it's not hard to understand why so many here have a negative reaction to a de-commit. It's much easier to accept a recruit just choosing another school v. de-committing & re-opening the recruiting process. It just feels like (from a fan perspective) it can place doubt in the minds of other potential recruits when this occurs.

I hope Prince decides this is where he belongs & re-commits. I think he'll regret it if he doesn't. And if he's smart, he would do it soon before the window shuts...

I hear uconn is out of the ali race
Good news and I figured as much. As soon as the kid decommitted it was time for next. We are involved with a ton of top recruits and when it's all shaken out we will have one of the top classes in the nation.

It's naive at best to hold the teenager 100% accountable in a decommitment vs. the school or a mutual decision.

No problem with Ali decommitting although I wasn't crazy about his comments. We are talking an 18-19 year old kid here so he should get some slack. He would be a good addition but I get the feeling KO may be going in a different direction with Adams coming on board, specifically a big or 2.

Same. Saying KO is a "good dude" like a girl letting off a guy easy, and talking about us not "falling off" like we're supposed to pursue him like he's Malik Newman and our only guard option.
