This was aggravating. UConn won one game, but I have a feeling that they should have won all three. Such is baseball.
I have to admit while it has its uses at certain times, in general I'm not a fan of small ball strategies such as bunting. I hate giving up outs. Even worse is when you use these strategies and they fail. UConn got the first two batters on in the 8th inning, and it sounded like the opposing pitcher had a bit of a control problem. Testani bunts, and the Blue Hose was able to get the out at third base. I could be wrong, but it seems to me UConn generally has problems getting bunts down with runners on first and second.. At that point I had a real bad feeling about the rest of the game.
Anyway, Jim Penders said in the post game interview that Colletti will start the Charleston game on Tuesday.
