UCONN 78
Stanford 69
Stanford is 7-2 with losses to Pitt and BYU. Not sure what to make of them yet but they beat Houston by 10 and SDSU by 28. Admittedly when I first looked at it, I thought it was San Diego State University, who I think is really solid. But it's South Dakota State University so I guess it's not a huge win.
I think the guys will be a bit rusty, but this is a game they really should win handily. Would love to see a 20+ point win, but we don't seem to really excel in those this year...
Stanford is big - they have a bunch of guys 6'10" or taller. Not sure how strong they are or if they will push us around in the paint. Most of their scoring seems to come from their forwards/centers - guys who are 6'7", 6'7", and 6'10" (at least per their stats page on ESPN). Randall, their guard, is 6'2" and while I don't think their guards are overly big, I'm unsure how they will match up against ours, except to say ours are better. Probably by a lot.
Still, with the rust factor, I'm not sure this has the makings of a big time blow out. Would be nice to be wrong! Would like to see less Boat show and more Boat the guard. Shabazz has been phenomenal this year and I hope the kid continues to have great games all season. With the rust, I'm betting we see a big game from either Calhoun or Daniels, but not both. I'd love to see more growth from Brimah as well.
