But wouldn't that still mean no Providence? We wouldn't be protected as a 5 seed but they would as a 4 seed. Not sure how that works though

For the top 4, it's about slotting. Basically can't slot any conferences top 4 seeds into the same region as another top 4 seed unless they have more than 4. So doesn't protect a 5 at all and doesn't protect top 4s from 5s. But the multiple matchup thing usually did, but we only played them once so it was possible.
