Okay, you got me, he was far better in HS than I realized.Actually 4 time 1st team all State.

Do you have a link? I'm pretty confident it was three (and in his Stamford bar there are only three displayed). Back then, high schools in the area were only 10th grade through 12th grade (7-9 were junior high).Actually 4 time 1st team all State.
There are a few...Bob Skoronski, Pete Demmerle, Sandy Osiecki, Andrew Pinnock.....If you stop the clock immediately after they stopped playing HS ball it isn't close (Bobby V was a three time first team all state, Steve Young was a pretty good option QB on a team that was a couple years away from being great).
I'd guess that there are a few who (HS alone) can be considered the best ever in CT but Bobby has to be part of that conversation.
Agree with all. Would add Floyd Little as well. There are a few...Bob Skoronski, Pete Demmerle, Sandy Osiecki, Andrew Pinnock.....
I want a guy with some respect and swagger.

I played back then, trust me if you were good enough they moved you from the freshman team to the Varsity. Played for Warde in Fairfield. I could be wrong, only way to check would be the CT HS record book. It's possible he didn't make first team his freshman year.Do you have a link? you can make fun all you want but this needs to be a 'spalsh hire. It's low-bar thinking reflected in that stupid emoji that results in PP/Diaco hires
You are just sitting back chuckling aren't you?
You forgot to add that he had won the Broyles award the year before as wellDiaco was not a low bar hire. He was the DC at the most visible school in the country.
Good choice...my buddy who is a former UConn player was high on him to replace P.Wilder from Old Dominion.

I stand corrected, he did make first team for only three years 65-66-67, not four. Quite a few other names there, Rick Robustelli (Andy's son), Bennett Salvatore. Courtesy of the New Haven RegisterYou are correct - BV is the only three-time All-State football player in Connecticut history.

It all sounds so good on paper. And from NJ and surely says all the right things in the interview.
Problem is, being a HC is very different than being a coordinator for a long list of reasons.
Yea but every coach that UConn has a shot at getting is going to have question marks. It appears Diaco was the wrong choice, but he wasn't a low bar hire. PP, who got the job for reasons like he's from CT, and the high school coaches like him was.
P was actually a very lazy hire by someone who had little desire to break a sweat.Yea but every coach that UConn has a shot at getting is going to have question marks. Briles or Broyles? You forgot to add that he had won the Broyles award the year before as well
Wilder is 25-20 since end of 2012 season. It is probably a realistic choice...but that record is not exactly killing it down at Old Dominion. His only other coaching experience is with Maine for god sakes
Broyles Award..given to the top D-1 Assistant every year..the award that Narduzzi won in 2013Briles or Broyles?
oh no he had a desire to break a sweat...as long as that sweat coincided with eviscerating the Athletic Department there-by dropping the bottom line in the budget..and earning him his bonus. Or getting tickets to Morande Ford...I'm sure we can find other examples as well LMFAO.P was actually a very lazy hire by someone who had little desire to break a sweat.

I confused that with the Briles award (Art), given to the college coach most likely to be run out of town.Broyles Award..given to the top D-1 Assistant every year..the award that Narduzzi won in 2013
