Yeah, Indy's like BYU and Liberty (C-USA, cancelled Uconn in 2023) are in the process of schedule cleaning with their jump into conferences. On the flip side there will be alot of teams they scheduled but cancelled on, looking for OOC games because of it.

" The game contract did include a clause that if either team joined a conference or switched conferences, the series could be canceled without penalty....As a result of the move, BYU has begun the process to trim down its future Independent football schedules, some of which had 12 games on the slate. Beginning in 2023, BYU will need only three non-conference games per season. "

Noting NC State's cancelled BYU games (2024 Raleigh and 2030 Provo), it would not be surprising for AD DB to try to replace the Cougars. One obstacle, NC State may prefer not to play UConn 3 straight years (2022 Raleigh, 2023 Rent, 2024 possible Raleigh).

The 2023 Rice game replaced BYU. Liberty is also no longer on the 2023 schedule. I don’t think BYU is going to play us in 24 or 25 either as they are going to the Big 12. Lastly, this is the first I have heard of playing Merrimack in 2024.

Truth.... with the BYU cancellations both years and knowing there is an FCS game in 2024, DB would do well to add a 7th home game, like they've had in the past. Hopefully beefing it up with a P-5, then work hard on another P-5 like Virginia that's been rumored, to replace that BYU @ the RENT in 2025. Right now both years are the extreme home opposites of 2026 ( 2 out of 3 P-5's so far) and (3) 2027.
