Your point #2 makes me think Juju and USC could have an interesting decision near the end of the season. She could come back next year, but very late in the season at best, and probably not at full strength. Given her injury and the significant departures, making the NCAA tournament at all is not a given, and USC might need a good seed to advance a couple of rounds before Juju would even be ready.

I suspect she will just redshirt and skip next year, but if USC exceeds the lower expectations and looks like a true contender there will be pressure to make a late season return.

It would be very foolish for her to play a single minute next season.
