Post Game Thread - Thank You, Alex, Tarris, and Malachi

Rewind back further. Take a couple more screenshots. Also, look for the left hand on #1 in white. Then ask yourself, why Ball goes flying and lands on the ground like that when it’s “not that challenging of a make”.
Watched it multiple x - zero contact. Ball goes flying because it's what he does. If anything he was drifting away from contact and did one of his patented wide flips to the rim. Had he driven into the defender, likely would have gotten 2 free throws. I don't know how he has been practing going to the rim over the last year, but he regularly shies away from contact.

great season. .this team showed the heart of a champion. Can you believe with the brutal officiating , our poor shooting and our guys in foul trouble - we had a chance to cut it to one basket late in the game ? unbelievable - all we needed was a couple threes to fall and a couple brutal calls to not be called on us.

The way that game unfolded, had he driven into the defender that ball would have been punched through the court at about 175 mph.
Maybe, but he would have gotten plenty of contact with the body - guy was already up in the air and flying towards him. Ball jumps away from the basket and away from contact. A dead ball free throws would have been a good place right there.

They jump at the same time.. anyways mich guy clearly has his left hand in his back as he’s taking off and shove explains why he loses control and goes flying

Not sure where to post it, but it’s worth putting it out there that Demary was hurt worse than we might have realized. We really need him back. He’s so tough, and is just a winning player.

Played through what very few players would've played through and then was treated horribly by the refs in the championship game. Unfinished business.

I love Silas and his family.

Never questioned his guts and fortitude. Takes after his Dad. Amazing how he was able to disrupt guys he played against in the Tournament playing on one leg. Have no idea what his rehab timeline on those injuries would be but it would have to impact his ability to showcase his talents in NBA tryouts/visits prior to the draft. Guess there's enough tape on him this year for any team who is interested. It would be awesome to have him return as a cornerstone to our roster for next season with his senior leadership.

You could see it in his lack of drives and when he did there was no lift in the paint/around the rim. Given that news I also don't see where the speculation that he could declare and test the draft process again comes from, he wouldn't even be healthy enough for workouts.

OK, crazy question, but I know it's the type of hard hitting journalism The Boneyard offers. Malachi wore a long sleeve shirt under his uniform all season until the NCAA tournament. Anyone have any idea why he didn't wear it in the NCAA's?

Really nice tweet from Malachi's dad about the mentorship that Kimani did. I think Kimani was the one that got Smith's head on straight to play some great ball for us in the Tourney when we really needed it with a hobbled Demary. We would never gotten to the championship game without Malachi. Thanks Kimani and I'm glad you are on the staff!

What an awesome message from his mom. And yeah, Malachi could have easily gotten in his own head when things were going rough but he was as key as any player on this team during that tournament run. What an awesome finish from him to that season.

The contact is clear as day. Look at the legs. They got taken out. How are you not seeing this?

Yeah! But I’m pretty sure that’s his dad’s twitter account

Yeah, more I watch it the more I see it. Looks like TM puts a forearm into his hip as he's launching, and Solo tries to sell the call. Given all the selling working by UM, we should have gotten that call in that type of situation. It was a BS called game.

Sometimes that nudge is minimal and not called, but when you see the legs get taken out from under him, it's a clear foul. I will say that the refs are looking up at arm contact and they can easily miss the legs and not call it, but this is just another instance when the refs do not get the benefit of the doubt because of the way the game was called.
