Don't let this game fool you into thinking defense is our biggest problem. The defense is still way ahead of the offense at this point.

Today Ollie experimented with a press, probably as a way of loosening the team up and generating some much needed easy baskets. It had the desired effect, to a certain degree, but it also yielded way more open threes than we're accustomed to seeing (which Coppin State converted at an abnormal rate). Obviously there were going to be some miscommunications and blown assignments given it was really our first time this season using it for an extended period. I'm sure as we continue to get healthier in the back court we'll see it again later in the year, but I doubt it will play a role in Thursdays game against Duke. If it keeps K up another couple hours preparing for it, that doesn't hurt either.

UConn was 18th in the country in defensive efficiency before today. They held a top ten team to 55 points. They held Yale to under 50. There are obviously some things that need to be cleaned up, especially in regards to guarding the three point line (Duke will beat us, possibly badly, if the rotations aren't rock-solid), but it's not as bad as people are making it out to be.
