Post conferenceflorida

Once again, the Boneyard takes shots at Ross in the post game thread. Once again, Hurley calls out Ross for settling down our defense in the second half and stopping the Florida momentum.

I wonder who is right. Hurley or the Ross haters?

I don’t even listen to that nonsense, Ross is very important to this team.

It’s not just his on player defense. He slips through screens as good as anyone on the team, he switches quickly, and he is constantly evaluating the floor for help defense.

What he does is disrupts opponents half court offense by impacting their flow.

He was a no show in the first half and Hurley appropriately benched him. We go into the second half with a seven point lead and the starters ended up giving Florida a 3 point advantage. Mullins, Smith, and Ross were terrific at stopping Florida’s momentum. And that was with Mullin playing “softer” on D because of foul trouble.

Just in case for those Fla fans that think that the 5 second call was short changed including their coach. Coach is way off on his count. Look at the refs hand.

I thought it was fast when watching it live. Seeing this replay, I still think it was. His hand goes from 3 to 4 very quickly. I counted along with the one one-thousand, two one-thousand stuff.

Bingo

The 5 seconds was a bit fast, but let’s not pretend it was the difference in the game.

Ross has his role, and brings value to the team

The team is good and getting better. Next few months will be fun.

Enjoy the ride.

It really wasn't.

IDK, I counted the 1 one thousand and it seemed right, but don't forget the ball is already in the players hand when the video starts.

The 5 seconds was legit, almost right on the money. I think it stands out because some refs give almost 7 seconds in the final minutes because the don't want to blow the whistle and make the correct call.

Ross had a bonehead turnover, but his defense helped get them in that position. He was part of the reason Lee struggled late. I give Ross and Stewart a lot of credit. They easily could have left for more PT at other schools and maybe even more NIL, but they like the school, the program, the staff and have accepted their roles to make a good team, really good. They both fulfilled those roles last night like Hurley wants. Are there some things they both could do better, yes... but they're still young men who are learning. And we should just be thankful that they stayed.
