I mean it's clearly UConn's fault. If they would stop going to visit her and seeing her play she wouldn't end up getting hurt the following week.

I certainly hope that Gabby is not injured now or will ever be injured while at UConn. But you are forgetting that Shea was an All-American while at UConn and won a NC and Carolyn was on several NC teams. You are slighting their careers terribly.

According to Gabby's father, no swelling today so they're thinking she just twisted her knee. An MRI will be done between now and Friday. Big question is whether she finishes her HS season:

“She had a little scare last night,’’ said Matt Williams, Gabby’s father. “She got up (today), there was no swelling. We’re looking to get an MRI to just kind of see what’s going on, but I think she may have just twisted it a little bit. But, anyway, she’s got some tough decisions to make because, of course, I’m pushing her not to play. But she’s a 17-year-old kid and has the eye of the tiger, competitive like no tomorrow. So we’ll see what the doctors say. But it was a little scary.

“But as parents we’re always going to be scared every time she jumps and moves and so forth. But she’s just playing at such a high level right now. So right now there’s no swelling and it was a little scare for everybody. But I think she’s going to have a good talk with (UConn) coach (Geno Auriemma) and her high school coach (Sara Ramirez) and her teammates just about whether or not she’s going to continue playing. And it’s really her call.’’

I am sending healing vibes and prayers towards Gabby. She is a tremendous athlete. I am hoping that her ACL heals so that she can reach her full potential and as well as her goals and dreams. Odyssey Sims tore her ACL and has recovered nicely. Hopefully Gabby can have a successful recovery too.

We have concern for her & it's great that we offer prayers in her behalf. No guarantee's, but a step in the right direction that the tests come back 'negative'.

Remember when she was first injured last year. Her father really wanted her not to play but rather forego her final year to heal and rest. As much as I admire her competitive spirit, I hope she listens to dad.

Not really. Although they did accomplish some pretty great things at UCONN neither came close to reaching their full potential (which is what the poster said) due to the knee injuries. Neither got the opportunity for a WNBA career. Both I think could have reached much higher levels without the knee injuries.
