Why?Will Muschamp
My guess it is either Joe Moorhead or Sammis. Not my choices.Gotta think that Tony Reno is very happy where he is.
I am not gonna vote. The last time I was critical of the Mora hire as he was the same age as PP and RE2.0 when hired. The first time I heard him speak publicly made me realize how wrong I was. I'll trust AD David Benedict in this matter recognizing that he had a bit of a head start than the rest of us. By now I would think that the in person interviews have already started.
He makes close to $4 million per year.I find Patrick Graham interesting. Is this someone we can ‘afford’?
I like that theory. I like it a lot.Merely a guess on my part but I imagine that there is a reason no rumors have leaked. I'm guessing DB has zeroed in on someone who is coaching FCS playoffs (Cahill or Reno) and the agreement is there will be no announcement until that school's season is over.
In other words No.He makes close to $4 million per year.
All 2 of the media that show up to a press conferenceMan I'd love Ed O, but I doubt his personality mixes well with the CT media snobs
If it’s Reno, bring Dante down right now!Merely a guess on my part but I imagine that there is a reason no rumors have leaked. That thought crossed my mind. I was surprised that Cahill is only 4 years younger than Reno. And I agree with “I’d be fine with either”. The Dante Reno connection with Tony is an interesting intangible. Hire HC and get QB.The upside to Cahill over Reno is the young coach energy and connection with the players. I’d be fine with either. I suspect that it will be one of these two that we hire.
Only downside is neither brings us a team of players with them. That is the one advantage of hiring FBS coach. Look at Indiana. A lot of players were brought from JMU.The upside to Cahill over Reno is the young coach energy and connection with the players. I’d be fine with either. Ricky Rahne, Old Dominion his offense is explosive and he has to be interested. He won (this season) with little to none resources that they gave him at Old Dominion. No one is mentioning him but this is an interesting one. Name was in conversation with South Florida.Ricky Rahne, Old Dominion, is someone to defintely look at.
HC experience. Has ODU at 9 wins this year.
Was OC at Penn State beforehand (with a bunch of quality ties there)
Offensive mind
Played at Cornell, started coaching at Holy Cross
By the same logic, it could be an assistant involved in a conference championship game this weekend who is willing to walk away from the bowl/playoffs but not until after Friday or Saturday.Merely a guess on my part but I imagine that there is a reason no rumors have leaked. I could see that, but I'm not sure that secrecy would be as imperative in that scenario.By the same logic, it could be an assistant involved in a conference championship game this weekend who is willing to walk away from the bowl/playoffs but not until after Friday or Saturday.
What about when Bob Chesney left Holy Cross to coach at James Madison? How many players did Chesney bring from Holy Cross to JMU?Only downside is neither brings us a team of players with them. That is the one advantage of hiring FBS coach. Look at Indiana. A lot of players were brought from JMU.
He brought 4 players. What about when Bob Chesney left Holy Cross to coach at James Madison? How many players did Chesney bring from Holy Cross to JMU?
Depends. I would guess an Ivy League team would bring very few playersWhat about when Bob Chesney left Holy Cross to coach at James Madison? How many players did Chesney bring from Holy Cross to JMU?
