I picked Stanford. In watching them last night, their shooting was horrific. Karlie does not play anywhere near like Katie Lou. She handles the ball more like Kia Nurse and gets in two man games, pick and rolls, etc
Stanford has no dominant big person aka Briona Jones.
The family will have some heartache but they can travel to one location ( saving on travel) and then have shirts made Stanconn, or Connford.
VanDerveer said afterwards the PAC-12 was the toughest conference (I think RPI somewhat agrees) and especially on the defensive end but points were hard to come by and the game was very physical and wasn't called close at all, at least by my observation.

Absolutely Stanford...they are good fundamentally but a bit plodding/slow.....Gabby and Phee have a field day. If Lou and Karlie neutralize each other thats a win for us...although my guess is little sis wins the battle against big sis

Slow or fast---my typing gets so out of control---my hands make up words all by themselves---don't feel alone in letters--they take on
a life of their own--sometime's I think I'm in a Sy fi cartoon. (is this reality???)

Miss. St, Oregon St. or Stanford. Maryland is only projected #2 that can score. Any of the other 3 would need to have the offensive performance of their lives to beat UConn.

Charlie Creme's #2 Seeds as of today are Stanford, Maryland, Oregon St and Miss St. Presume UConn meets the #2 seed for the right to go to the Final Four. Which #2 Seed would you like in UConn's Bracket.

Charlie has Stanford in the UConn Bracket. Not sure I would like to see a match up between Karlie and Katie-Lou at this time. Karlie may just have the advantage due to her experience.

I chose Miss St as they have less offensive weapons.

I chose Miss St for the same reasons. I think we match up better against MS than the other choices. They have 6'7" So. Teaira McCowan, but she still appears a bit soft to me, and still susceptible to early (1st qtr) foul trouble. Vivians has been hot & cold this year (no consistency). Last year, we beat them by 60 (98-38), which doesn't mean a whole lot this year, just that we've played them recently.

Bob Picozzi said early in last nights game Geno listed Baylor, Notre Dame, and Maryland as teams he thinks have the best shot to beat us.

I picked MD since it would be fun to deny them again. I see I am in the heavy minority.
I know they are probably the worst matchup for us and are highly motivated to beat us but I like nail-biters.
Respect but no fear.

I do not see the fun playing Miss. St or Oregon State since there is no way they can score enough (did we not do enough damage to those 2 programs last year?) and even though I think Stanford is no offensive juggernaut, I do not want Katie Lou to knock her sister out of the FF. That would be cruel.

Anyone who wants to voluntarily play Stanford is crazy.if any coach could design a game plan to beat you, it's probably tara.

You would agree that Stanford would be more dangerous if the game were played in the sweet 16. A regional final wouldnt give her alot of time to implement a game plan.

I'd take all of them on but if I had to choose one it would be Mississippi State. Their point guard yesterday couldn't muster any sort of offensive rhythm and I think out of the four teams they are the least physical.

Couldn't be further from the truth.

Out of those teams listed they are probably the MOST physical. They have depth and they use it to body you up and foul you all night.

Your girls will need long ice baths after that one.

I went with Stamford mainly because of the sibling rivalry.

And heaven knows I'm not trying to call up any bad mojo here, but if our streak is to come to an end during the FF, I'd rather we lose to the Cardinal then any of the other teams.
Lose? Lose? No, not lose, get revenge! I want affirmation that we can beat anyone anytime!

I selfishly chose Maryland because I think they are the only team in that group capable of beating UConn, and it's open season if UConn doesn't make it to the Final Four.

There should be special criteria just for uconns bracket IMO. No first year coaches should be placed in their bracket and no team that has played them during the season should be in their bracket. I like this latest bracket by Charlie but DePaul should not be there and should be switched to Louisville.

Yeah they tried that in last year's tourney and found themselves down 50 at half time. For the sake of competitiveness, hopefully having a year to think about it will yield a more effective strategy this time around.

Had them last year and the game was over in the first 5 minutes. The only bathing we did was sun bathing....

As of this morning Charlie has Stanford as 2 seed in Bridgeport. I would be ecstatic with that ! Stanford just does not have the firepower to stay with Uconn, regardless of how many gadget defenses Tara pulls out of her hat ! Plus I think the huskies might have a little payback in mind in bridgeport. I am still thinking it will be O.State., or Miss. State instead .

I've given this some more thought and I want either Stanford or OSU in Bridgeport. So far this season, UConn has beaten the regular or tourney champions from each of the following conferences:

Atlantic 10 (Dayton)
Big East (DePaul)
Southern (Chattanooga)
Big 12 (Baylor)
BIG (Maryland)
ACC (Notre Dame)
SEC (South Carolina)

The only feather missing from UConn's cap is the Pac12. I want a clean sweep of the P5. The Huskies fell one conference short last year when Baylor lost in the elite 8, although that did provide the opportunity to vanquish OSU from the Pac12.

The question boils down to which team would UConn have the LEAST trouble with? That's why Miss. St. is leading the poll. Then there are those of us--including me--who would like to play Stanford. I have two reasons: one, the revenge factor (can't beat the Cardinal often enough or badly enough); two, love to see the super-competitive Samuelsons go at it. This is a trio of sisters who have been trying to throttle each other since childhood and beyond. Big sister Bonnie usually got the best of it; Karlie, the shy one and shortest one, is appropriately ferocious. Lou is the better shooter, Karlie the better defender. The sisters say that Karlie will be on Lou if they play, and Lou says she dreads having Karlie guard her because her older sister knows her so well. Tara chips in that Karlie has become more of an all-around player this year, not just a 3-pt specialist. We know how much Lou has grown into a more complete player. How could we NOT want to see this match-up w/in the match-up? Remember UConn Rule #4: Have Fun!:)

It's funny, because I answered the question based on who I would least care to see make the FF. I have a bit of a soft spot for underdogs, so I would delight in seeing MSST and/or ORST make the big dance in Dallas. Between MD & Stanford, I would most love to see UConn take the starch out of Tara's girls, just to end their streak-breaking jinx on the Huskies. As others have said, it would be a marquee regional match-up.

I absolutely don't think Karlie would have any advantage over Katie Lou, at this point. Maybe last year but KLS has been seasoned and she is easily the best Samuelson, both as a shooter and in her all-around game. I'd prefer not to have them play one another because I don't want to think about the REMOTE outside possibility that Stanford would stop another record run by the Huskies. I believe in curses a little bit, I guess.
