Usually right around this time we get the season ticket numbers. What will they be this year?

Benedict said on WTIC this morning that we are roughly in line with last year at this time.

Judging by the seat selector tool we have sold maybe 16k full season ticket plans before we talk about student season ticket plans. I'm sure the administration has always counted 2 and 3 game ticket packages when quoting the ticket base number which adds quite a few more bodies. When all said and done, looks like on the eve of Holy Cross we will be in the low 20s is my guess provided the students step up.

If you doubt that, just go use the single game ticket tool and figure we have 20k seats in the lower bowl and 20k in the upper bowl.

Just saw on IG student tickets now on sale for 42 bucks. I wonder what the effect would be on attendance if at that negligible cost they worked them into tuition like they do at a lot of schools?

Probably minor. Much more about making the product appealing.

Student section is packed early in the season every year. Once it gets cold those tickets go unused unless we're playing big games.

Wait, what? Memphis doesn't sell even 10k season tickets?
Article is from June 16 and haven't been able to find a more current update on the number but looks like they're on track for a record season ticket number this year.

Wasn't last year a really low number, the worse in years? I'm surprised having RE didn't drive season tickets a bit more.

Level season tickets is a win. Can't imagine what Diaco year 4 would have brought.

Now have a good season, keep the no shows to a minimum and look for a bump next season.

As recently as a few years ago they determined home attendance by weighing the ticket stubs...

Hmmnnn. I seem to remember you pumping Memphis as an ideal fit for the Big 12. Am I misremembering?

Pretty sure you are misremembering. I have always said the Big 12 isn't expanding with AAC teams.

When everyone was hot and bothered about the Big 12 expansion and people gave them no chance I said that was a bad idea because:

A. The Big 12 is dumb
B. There are a ton of football recruits in the greater Memphis area

Based on the criteria I assume the Big 12 would use I wouldn't have been shocked to see them land on Memphis. But I've never thought there was any revenue equation that would lead to the Big 12 expanding anyway.
