Undergrad, and could/would have done grad school but was offered a way better opportunity elsewhere.

Yes, why?
Someone asked if the football fans (of which there are fewer than b-ball) were primarily UConn grads. However, I just wanted to know who actually has ties to UConn personally.

I didn't go to school there. I passed on a full academic scholly because it was too close to home(that well thought out decision should have made them rescind the offer). I lived nearby to Storrs and as a kid my fan references were locked in. Connecticut for hoops with my Dad who also did not attend. I left CT for Oregon 20 years ago. As such Football doesn't resonate with me other than I bought some tickets (and didn't travel from Oregon obivously) because football was needed to keep it in the national discussion. I don't know if that counts as personal connection. Feels like it.

No but my grandson and a great niece and her now hubby did. Many years ago one of my sons went to the Stamford campus for one term to please his father, who wanted him to become an engineer. He tried but was not interested. Went on to Embry-Riddell for aeronauticnscience ( pilot). Graduated and after bouncing from job to job is now holding a job involving travel all over the world training people to use their product. Doing very well.

Thought about it but didn't want to go to where the large majority of my high school classmates would go. Ended up at wcsu

started at CCSU and then transfered to IPFW (that school that just beat Indiana U). Didn't want to go to UConn at the time because of the size, but now kind of wish I did.

1965-72 with 2 year vacation including all expense paid 1 year trip to far east (guess was in the jungle for a year twice!). MBA 1974. Meet wife, also a grad, at UConn. Sister, son and brother-in-law all grads.

Graduated high school in California 86, 2 years at JC in California, 2 years working in the family plumbing company and then transferred to UConn in 1991. Took my first class in August 1991 and finished my UConn degree with a 3 unit political science course at University of Nevada in December 2013. I was on the popular 27 year plan. (Although my resume said I graduated in 93. Luckily no one ever actually checked)

SCSU 81. UCONN didn't my lack of foot speed as a QB. My father had season tickets for BB. Joey Whelton and his family were friends. The first game my son and I went to was 1992 in Storrs where we stood outside the end zone with he on my shoulders.
Moved to Richmond in 97, we've watched every national championship game together and have screamed out the front door UCONN BABY after to each men's and women's win!
