It's good for Woman's basketball for the fact that ND South Carolina Baylor and Maryland are elite teams that lost to teams that never been to the final four or had limited experience in the Tournament. Schools Players and coaches is doing its best to compete with Uconn and this year was the year of some rule changing that also helped teams manage their level of play. I seen alot more players attacking the rim. I seen great outside shooting one on one scoring. The list goes on. It's just more competitive

" . . . . Cinderella stories create great buzz"

Indeed, except Cinderella didn't make it to the ball. From what I saw the three ugly step sisters were the ones that showed up. With the exception of UConn the other FF teams were pretty pathetic.

I was at this year's FF and I've been to a number of them before, and believe me the lack of competition made this one the most uninteresting to attend. It was great for the 3 schools that had never been to a in FF before, in that way it may help to grow their women's basketball programs, but as far as interest and competition it lost all it's luster. There were a lot of unsold seats in the lower levels that I have never seen before. It really hurt that there was no other big name women's basketball schools to play against. Two 30 point blowouts in the at the FF make UConn fans rest easy but was it the competition level that we really wanted to see at the FF?

I agree, and I posted a similar comment right after ND lost. My knee-jerk reaction of them losing was euphoric in nature, but after I calmed down, I realized that the final four was not going to be the same. ND always shows up for the "Big Boogie". I'll bet if you polled Geno (and coaches) and the players, and asked them who they would prefer to play in the championship game, Syracuse or Notre Dame, I'm guessing ND would get the nod. UConn always enjoys playing and beating ND, especially on the big stage (like last year's final).

With none of the other 1 seeds in Indy, all of the much anticipated drama and suspense was non-existent. The show down of the top four seeds had been building up since mid-February. That was like going to a concert to see your favorite band or headliner, then after you get in, you're told they won't be showing up (for whatever reason), and a fill-in band will be taking their place. Really? This was the first tournament in the past few years that not one team played UConn close. UConn went through all six teams like a hot knife through butter. The UConn fans loved it. I certainly loved it!!

The rest of WCBB hated it, no drama. They were hoping that somebody, anybody would knock UConn off. No such luck. Just a well oiled machine doing what it's suppose/built to do. Win, and win by a large margin, as they did ALL YEAR. Odds are next year's final four will have lots of drama and suspense, and maybe a surprise or two (and a dark horse). I expect to see more 1 seeds make it to the FF. I look for Baylor or ND NOT to stub their toe next time around, and come out of their regional.

They vote right after all of the teams complete their REGULAR season games. Then they vote again AFTER the conclusion of the NCAA tournament, which by the way had Washington ranked 8th.

Notre Dame fell from #2 to #6. UConn of course was first, followed by Oregon St., Syracuse, Baylor and South Carolina at #5. Texas, Washington, Maryland and Ohio State round out the top 10.

The poll I'm referring to is the USA Today coaches poll that was updated on April 6, 2016.

This means UCONN beat seven of the top ten teams this season.

Those teams seemed to play scared in the tournament. I believe the teams that beat them were better than they were at the end of the season. They wanted so bad to play and beat UCONN in the tournament they forgot to be prepared for the other teams, imo.
