“I first got into women's sports with Tennessee and Connecticut, and I've been hooked ever since,” Owens told the Arizona Republic. “I've never understood the disparity [between men's and women’s basketball attendance], but the tide seems to be turning. I want Phoenix to give the Mercury the sellout they deserve.”

The Mercury have never had that upper deck open, even for playoff games. He isn't going to sell all those 7000 upper-deck tickets for $2-5. Unfortunately I suspect he won't even be able to give them all away with Taurasi out (although filling up the whole upper deck in Phoenix would be reaching way beyond the Phoenix area WBB fans who've actually heard of DT). Maybe schools would take them for field trips, except school will be out here plus it's a 7:00 PM Friday night game. The Mercury do a school summer camp day game already.

Anyway, kudos for the effort - hope it works better than I'm guessing!

What a shame that someone would end that great rivalry that attracted so many fans to the women’s game.
