Literally a movement to turn the Enfield mall into Amazon HQ2. It's hilarious. Are we going to waste our time with that nonsense? The only shot CT would have is Stamford or New Haven, and even that is a long shot
This is a great idea 06029! It makes so much more sense than more retail outlets. Your idea would create real jobs so people working there could afford going to Macy's rather than waiting for sales at outlets. It will be great for UConn, too, and expand its cooperation with the business community, similar to the way Texas A&M does in Texas.Time to create a tech incubator space there. both Fintech and Aerotech. Both play into UTC/Pratt and Uconn with the Hartford campus nearby. Add in the financial services firms and health care companies, it is the opportunity that should be explored.
Augment with affordable, workforce housing and entertainment/restaurant district. Couple with the innovation corridor (what they call Springfield to New Haven), Hartford office and loft space, with the right tax incentives, and there may magically be growth.
The only chance CT has at getting anything called Amazon is if the Army corps of engineers diverts a wide swath of the Connecticut River, throws in a few hundred snakes and crocodiles, and erects statues of 8ft tall women.Connecticut has a better chance to get Amazon
Sounds crazy but it just might work. The only chance CT has at getting anything called Amazon is if the Army corps of engineers diverts a wide swath of the Connecticut River, throws in a few hundred snakes and crocodiles, and erects statues of 8ft tall women.
