A look at the experience of UConn's opponents in the tournament considering the opponents' average points scored and given up over the entire season. In their game against UConn:

Idaho gave up 38 more than average, scored 28 fewer than average (total -66)
Vanderbilt 28, 22 (-50)
Maryland 19, 25 (-44)
Kentucky 25, 22 (-47)
ND 24, 16 (-40)
Louisville 35, 12 (-47)

Remarkable consistency.

Uconn averaged 83 points and gave up 50. So using the same stats:

Vs. Idaho- -35 (-22, -13)
Vs. Vandy- 0 (6, -6)
Vs. Maryland- 7 (7, 0)
Vs. Kentucky- 3 (0, 3)
Vs. Notre Dame- 15 (0, 15)
Vs. Louisville- 0 (-10, 10)

Total: -10 (-19, 9)

In short, Uconn slightly outperformed its season numbers over the balance of the tourney. Even if you take away the Idaho game, the final five games yield 25 combined, which is pretty amazing given that every single opponent by themselves was between 40 and 47 against Uconn.

Just a dominant run.

GRAY - our Veterans park spruce-up detail to prepare it for Memorial Day is rained out for now, so I had some time to sign in here and express my appreciation of your thread. Thought that was a very creative way to look at the post-season performance of "Our Girls," and very meaningful as well.

Just got back from a quick dash into Yellowstone - one momma black bear and cubs, tons of baby bison. I, too, thank you for an interesting view of the wonderful run through the tourney. Confirms what a machine they were against all comers. Thanks again.

Another angle on the opponents' experience playing UConn is field goal percentage for the game:

Idaho 26% (to UConn's 61%)
Vanderbilt 38% (54%)
Maryland 31% (48%)
Kentucky 31% (52%)
ND 30%*(47%)
Louisville 37% (53%)

*Particularly satisfying considering ND's offensive juggernaut status.
