The team is going through its learning progressions on what it takes to win games. Fresno was a 4Q battle and they came out on top with a closing drive. Today they were tested differently. They came out the second half with a big lead and went to sleep. They rallied at key moments to keep things just out of reach, but hopefully they came away with a better appreciation that they must play with intensity and purpose through all 4 Qs. It’s great to bank another W and see the transformation happening. Mora is a change agent. No doubt.

The team is learning something important every game. Yesterday they learned they aren’t in the position of being able to coast during games yet. FIU started to move the ball when the intensity let up. That’s an important lesson that, fortunately, wasn’t a painful one.

I was hoping for improvements learned in baby steps this year but the process is moving along at a surprising pace.

In both FSU and FIU, the opponent had a completely unforced TO on the first drive as they neared the red zone. Both were fumbles by the QB. Both were moving the ball and had momentum. Those were very big plays in both games.

Given the only luck we have had in recent years is bad luck, the worm had to turn eventually. Thank goodness it has.

I am not sure it was a lack of intensity. There were adjustments that FIU made and a few mistakes defensively that let them score their TD. FIU were moving the ball most of the night until the last 2 or 3 series. On O, Niemenski dropped a ball that killed the first drive.
