There is a pretty well publicized story about Audi Crooks recently scoring a lot of points and playing while she was sick. There’s a well-known UConn’s version of the story where Katie Lou Samuelson played when she had to run to the sidelines to throw up.
At what point is it too much risk to other players to allow someone who is visually ill to be allowed on the court? While basketball isn’t a contact sport, everyone is touching the same ball and being exposed in close proximity. At some point, there has to be an obligation for coaches to hold out kids who are ill. I know it won’t happen, but I kind of think letting sick players expose other kids is disgusting.
