The Basketball Capital of the World would be a great place!
I dunno about that. Storrs seems a bit isolated

Well she likes playing for a tough coach who is tops at winning ... maybe she going for the once and future records!Just saying, what an unique opportunity! Not sure a "reason" has been given. Considering how much improvement she made the last year, we know it's not an issue of development. I bet it has to do with wanting to see what NIL is out there for her . . .

I think she’s a junior who’s graduating this year, but I’m not positive.What grade/class is she in?
I can see Iriafen going to a program that already has a true Center so she can play alongside her and focus on the power forward spot instead of being needed to play mainly at Center. UCLA comes to mind; not sure who they have at PF alongside Betts.
I hear Oregon St has a few available scholarships.
Sienna Betts
Ehhh… being said she wants to stay on the west coast
And I saw similar scenes in Raleigh the years I lived there. Thanks for the Triangle promo!
ND here. The Irish need an experienced post player to make up for the injured Kylee Watson, who is recovering from an ACL injury. There it is. I'll be shocked if Notre Dame doesn't land one of her or Beers. They have the rest of the pieces to be a title contender but need post play.
Angela Dugalic (herself a transfer from Oregon).I can see Iriafen going to a program that already has a true Center so she can play alongside her and focus on the power forward spot instead of being needed to play mainly at Center. UCLA comes to mind; not sure who they have at PF alongside Betts.
You're either on a roll or an out of control realtor (both?)

Yeah. I would say the Big10 is the better travel option though. There will be 4 teams on the west coast plus quite a group in the midwest. The ACC is basically all east coast except now for the newbies. But the West Coast teams come East several times, with the new conference alignments.
Why not both? Raleigh, NC.No offense Triad, but I’d choose a chance at a title over nice weather any day of the week.
Could be the case. My guess is she'll want to play for a title contender her last year and both UCLA/USC fit the bill with her in the lineup.Iriafen is from Los Angeles. I'm guessing she stays in California and chooses UCLA or USC
Hannah Gusters to UCF. One-time top recruit to among the worst P5 teams.
Bay > LSU > OkSt > UCF
Definitely. The University tried everything they could. The rest of the conference all split and no P4 conferences wanted OSU. What were they supposed to do?
Yes, of course UConn and Oregon St. are 2 completely different entities when it comes to wbb, I do realize that.
edit--no P4 conference wanting you IS something UConn fans can identify with, right?
And I thought the SEC was incestuous with their transfers...Wow, third Big 12 team she has played for.
Looks like LSU Coach Mulkey weighed in on Hailey Van Lith's decision to hit the transfer portal:
(from a USA Today article which I've cut and pasted and attached)
"Speaking at the team's end-of-year banquet, coach Kim Mulkey elaborated on that decision.
“'Her aspirations were to get drafted this year,” Mulkey said, per nola.com, “and she realized, ‘I need another year, and I need to go back to a place where I can relax and get back to my normal position. And what do you do? You hug her, and you wish her well.'”
Who knows that "normal" position? Well, former Lousiville asst. Sam Purcell, now head coach for Mississippi State, is hosting Ms. Hailey Van Lith this weekend. Stay tuned.
I think both sides should just look at it as a failed experiment, trying to fit a round peg in a square hole. Both should reach the conclusion that Hailey Van Lith is best as a SG, and that will hurt her WNBA prospects at her height, but that is what she is, an undersized SG.In other words “I failed her”
Go to Oregon State then. It’s even in the name of their conference.Ehhh… being said she wants to stay on the west coast
Said this before, but the contrast between Hailey Van Lith/Paopao experience probably says more about the two coaches than won-loss or titles. In other words “I failed her”
This wasn’t a shock or a break the internet because it had been widely rumored even before Vandeerveer’s retirement. And THERE it is!
