ND here. The Irish need an experienced post player to make up for the injured Kylee Watson, who is recovering from an ACL injury.

They do have an incoming freshman, Kate Koval, who is the top-rated post of the Class of 2024, but ---yes--- experience matters, particularly at the post position. On the other hand, I'm sure both Koval and Kiki Iriafen could play with forward Maddy Westbeld.

Coach Ivey recruited Iriafen and Timea Gardiner heavily when she was an assistant, so there is a degree of familiarity.
We'll see....I suspect both UCLA and/or will pursue both or one of Iriafen or Gardiner heavily to keep them on the West Coast and UConn was also a finalist for Kiki. Stay tuned.

Angela Dugalic (herself a transfer from Oregon).
 
Iriafen would elevate the Irish from a title contender to a title favorite IMO. A lineup of Miles/Hidalgo/Citron/Westbeld/Iriafen with Koval backing up the paint is a squad I’m not sure anyone but South Carolina or maybe UConn could match. Have to think the Cardinal-Irish grad transfer connection has ND on her radar.

Yeah. I would say the Big10 is the better travel option though. There will be 4 teams on the west coast plus quite a group in the midwest. The ACC is basically all east coast except now for the newbies.
 
Hannah Gusters to UCF. One-time top recruit to among the worst P5 teams.

Bay > LSU > OkSt > UCF

Could be the case. My guess is she'll want to play for a title contender her last year and both UCLA/USC fit the bill with her in the lineup.

"Speaking at the team's end-of-year banquet, coach Kim Mulkey elaborated on that decision.

“'Her aspirations were to get drafted this year,” Mulkey said, per nola.com, “and she realized, ‘I need another year, and I need to go back to a place where I can relax and get back to my normal position. And what do you do? You hug her, and you wish her well.'”


Who knows that "normal" position? Well, former Lousiville asst. Sam Purcell, now head coach for Mississippi State, is hosting Ms. Hailey Van Lith this weekend. Stay tuned.

Iriafen coming to UConn is probably a long shot, but consider this. This young lady has the opportunity to play for both Tara and Geno, the two winningest WBB coaches of all time. A unique opportunity indeed.

This wasn’t a shock or a break the internet because it had been widely rumored even before Vandeerveer’s retirement.

I think that was either a whole lot of nothing, or they heard a rumor about someone who changed their mind.

Was Kiki prominent enough to earn that distinction?

I’m curious bc we yet to determine whether those folks had actual News or this was all garbage/hoax.
