Players Entering Transfer Portal, As of March 2024

Kelly should go to SMU. Not sure what part of Texas she is from, but its "home". She could stay in the ACC and face familiar foes... be the face of the program for a year. Plus get the chance to face off vs her former school and drop 30 pts on 6-28 shooting.

Is Deja Kelly good at basketball? Her 4 years at Chapel Hill have been consistent. She shoots a lot, and makes a low percentage. She's especially bad from 2, where every year her attempts place her in the top 10%, and every year her percentage places her in the bottom 30%.

I won't answer that question. Supposedly I'm biased.

Your restraint is admirable. I thought you might feel compelled to respond to Kelly's brag of helping build UNC back to a "national powerhouse," but you passed. Again, admirable restraint.

What a difference a week makes! I updated this list as 9 bigs have found new homes. Pickings are getting slimmer but there are still some real quality players available.

Did someone say there are no quality bigs left in the portal? Not including Beers as she is deciding between two schools. Obviously "quality" is subjective but it looks like there are still plenty of post players with "big" potential available.

She said that? I didn't read her message to Tar Heel Nation. I might have to take a look now

National Powerhouse? Chapel Hill won one more game in 4 years at the ACC tournament than my neighbor's pet bulldog. A Powerhouse indeed

I don't see Barker as a fit at UCONN. Big personality and is a little all over the place on the court, but she is immensely talented. If she wants to be on a title contender, I think LSU would be a tremendous fit. Tennessee is another option if she wants a place where she can be a go to player from the get go. Dauda on the other hand I think is an excellent fit. Shot blocker with range on her shot and good athleticism to provide height and experience in the paint.

She's very athletic and a good defender. Efficiency is a major red flag though that needs to be improved massively if she'll develop into a WNBA player. I think Louisville or Tennessee could be a good fit for her (as others have noted). I don't see her being a starter on a title contender though.

Things could certainly change but LSU’s insider said they are not in the game with her and Janiah herself responded to an LSU fan saying they would love for to visit with a no. Now this was when she first entered the portal so if she did not get the feedback from the schools she wanted she could have shifted her focus.

Why do I get the feeling Janiah Barker is gonna end up at LSU? Mulkey has no height coming in so far, right?
Wolfenbarger is 6-5, Del Rosario is 6-6, Smith is 6-2 and athletic, Morrow 6-1 and athletic. After that it’s thin though. I wouldn’t be surprised if they land Dauda, she was a Baylor commit before Kim left for Baton Rouge.

I would be. Has Dauda trimmed her list? I thought I read somewhere that out of her initial 20 or so teams, LSU wasn't one of them. I think that surprised a few folks.

I'd lean UConn for Dauda, but we'll see.

Does Wolfenbarger consider herself an interior player? I don't think so. She's tall, but I don't think she commands a post presence like Mulkey always seems to have.

Dauda has been rumored to not be considering LSU (if I understood this tweet correctly).

You never know. I vaguely recall out high school that she considered schools not too far away from Arkansas.

I've seen some Tennessee posters insist Barker will end up at Ole Miss or Texas. Guess we'll find out soon.

Where do you want us to discuss transfers who have not yet made a decision on their new schools?
Uhm. There is an entire thread about commitments out of the portal. This is the into the portal thread . The portal entry mmlocked on May 1. So should this thread have been

"actual" commitments

Yeah...I'm not sure how Graves is getting players to come in still given how there has been a mass exodus after each season for 3 or 4 years in a row.
Probably an assistant recruiting for him. The poor slob does not have the energy to recruit them himself.

Well, Cameron started following several of the Miami players on Instagram, and her Dad started following the MiamiWBB account. She could be on a visit there, or that could be her destination. She did graduate from Michigan on Saturday.

That kind of tracks. Toledo has faced Michigan the past two seasons. Cullop has seen her in action and knows her scout. Could see her fitting in better here.

And then there were 6...............
Obviously the two big prizes left on this list are Barker and Dauda. Every single player on this list has transferred to a P5 school.** There will still be some "serviceable" players left for those schools who still need that height or as some added depth off the bench.

The portal is not locked. You can enter but have to sit unless you get a waiver
