As I was driving home from XL, I think I heard Joe D mention it, but I cannot confirm what I heard. Any help for me?

What are you asking? What did you hear that you cannot confirm? No help without more clarity? Do you want a definition of PER? If so, try GOOGLE.

I heard plus minus numbers, which are common for pros, not so common for college, but those aren't PER.

I can provide some insight into Player Efficiency Ratings and the underlying Plus/Minus numbers.

Here are the numbers for the Notre Dame game:

Name......Plus..Minus..Efficiency
- Williams...12.....8.......4
- Collier....33....13......20
- Samuelson..30....12......18
- Nurse......18.....8......10
- Stevens....32....13......19
- Walker.....10.....4.......6

Plusses are: Points, Assists, Steals, etc.
Minuses are: Turnovers, Fouls, Blocked shots, etc.

Efficiency is the difference between the Plus and the Minus numbers.
- Williams 4
- Collier 20
- Samuelson 18
- Nurse 10
- Stevens 19
- Walker 6

Thanks so much, Big Mick. I think these are sort of ridiculous since they can't address the intangibles, and can't capture defensive skills. But at the very least they should be multiplied out by the number of minutes played.
