Pitt's invite to the ACC

Scam article. There are a couple of true P5 parasites that offer absolutely nothing to their conference and Pitt is absolutely positively one of them. They struggle to even deliver their own Pittsburgh market (Penn State/WVU). Another example of a school getting the job done while we were too busy playing the choir boys & girls worrying about APR nonsense.

I don't know if they "got the job done" so much as they were an acceptable alternative to UConn that didn't threaten BCU.

And Syracuse; plus Pitt has some football 'history' from 30 or 40 years ago, which seems to have been an important factor. Pitt also is a major research university, which likely helped mollify Duke, UVA, and the non-athletic side of UNC.

FSU had an eight game series with Pitt 1971-83...........

Also...before joining the ACC, Pitt had played 17 games with Duke, 9 games with NC State, 7 games with UNC, 5 games with Virginia...

And Pitt had played Syracuse 67 games before joining the ACC...including 22 games from 1990-2011

Maybe some a somewhat familiar feeling.

Syracuse was in either way. The question was who was going to be their partner.
