What is this whole country club squeaky clean Nova image thing? Their coaches were Rollie Massimino and Steve Lappas before Jay Wright.

And it looks like that prayer’s not coming true — some big Maryland boosters are tweeting that they’re confident Willard is staying.

Who does Nova turn to next? I honestly can’t come up with a name.

I’m against hiring Willard.

I’d take any of the 3 over Willard, and I’d name more from my own list, but this is not my list.

I know where it is, I almost went there. I had no idea their student body consisted of Radnor kids.

Has Nova really become a rich country club school since the 2000's? Were they a blue color OTB crowd when they hired Rollie and Lappas?

Over 80% of students are from outside PA.

NJ, PA, NY, MA, and CT make up 70% of students.

30% don’t identify as Catholic.

Is it more of a rich school today? Unfortunately most schools are, especially private schools. Costs are now more than $80K per year.

It’s very different from when Rollie was hired. In the 70s and 80s it was 95% Catholic, a higher mix of commuters, and much more affordable.

In a modern age, Villanova does a good job promoting Augustinian values - Truth, Unity, Love, community, and service. As everywhere, you can find some amount of lapses and hypocrisy to the mission.

Is it worth $80K a year? I don’t think that is a great value. It is a luxury, in my opinion, to send your kid there and benefit from all Villanova has to offer, including its Augustinian culture. The school is not better off for the shift in financial demographics.

I think Porter Moser would be a good option. His teams are closer to Wright's stylistically than any of the other candidates in my view.
