Pitino/StJ on Fallon

SJU hasn’t done anything yet but are on a victory tour. This team could be one and done in the BET and NCAAT. You would think a coach like pitino would know better. The players might just start feeling themselves too much.
 
I am not hatin. Good for him and St. John's, but yes this does seem a little premature. But Hurley in true competitive fashion will be on 60 Minutes :)
 
Love him / Hate him.. no matter… that speech came from the heart, and it resonated with his players.

But as others have posted, maybe a bit to early to start reflecting on moments like this…

For us at UConn, the real season is just starting…..
 
I'm happy for Rick as one of the greats, into his swan song in a city that he was built for. He has to be enjoying it, and taking a deprived fan base and city along for the ride. Enjoy it StJ's fans. Say what you want, the BE has coaches that bring color and personality and get a load of PR for it. It only helps the league.

Sets up for a lot of fun in the next few years, especially now that our little brother to the East is turning into a dumpster fire.

I think if there is any coach that can manage the fun to ensure expectations to win are met, it's Rick. I for one hope they go deep in the tourney, will only add to the festivities next year.
 
We will see come next Saturday night who’s cutting down the nets- it is now March.
 
How much did St. John’s and Pitino spend on NIL this year compared to UConn? I heard 4 million for them but don’t know if true.
 
I dig it. St John’s is a great story and Pitino is one of the greatest to ever do it. I hope they go as far as possible. You imagine if Pitino takes them to a FF? Legit rebuild, pretty quickly, four different programs and take them to ? Crazy.

On another note, I hated Fallon on SNL and my dislike of him just grows year to year. Took the fam to the TGiving day parade in NYC a couple years back and booed and heckled him from afar. One of the most childish moments of my life.

Speaking of funny & basketball, anyone catch the new series on NF called Running Point with Kate Hudson? LA Hoops version of Ted Lasso. Easy watch, still determining whether funny.

If you’re looking for light, low investment it’s worth the watch. I enjoy the cast, the two brothers ying/yang. Each episode has a couple zingers. Only 30 minutes an episode, so no sweat off the back. Bit more dark comedy than Lasso, but feel good same time.

They won the conference so good for them. Anything that gives positive attention to the conference is a good thing.

The players were absolutely comatose.
