BG: Pistons to Cats
RG: Rumors of Trade
RA: Celtics to Heat/Knicks/Celtics
Emeka: Hornets to Wiz
JL: Gonna get Drafted
AD: Gonna get Drafted

alot of movement on the Uconn/NBA Front

Was this a pure salary dump? Seems like a steal for Charlotte. It's not like Maggette has done anything.

Pure salary dump from Detroit's point of view. Maggette's deal expires after this year.

At first I was impressed that Charlotte got a pick out of this deal too, but since it's lottery protected, they're not likely to get it.

Bobcats are doing work. Are trying to trade tyrus and the #2 pick. If they can trade that for a top #5 pick/player. They are def cleaning house. Nice to see a jolt of energy in that franchise.

he is a restricted free agent...I would not be surprised if the cats let him walk...i think they are truly in cleaning house then rebuild mode

No, they do get the pick. They just don't get it in 2013 if it's in the lottery. Then it's top-8 protected in 2014, top-1 protected in 2015, and unprotected in 2016.

Oh ok, I didn't realize that.

Just saw that, I lime this a lot as bad as the Bobcats are they have more going for them now than the Pistons do. BG still has several years of good basketball left in him, the Pistons were just a bad fit. It will be sweet watching a backcourt of Kemba and BG.
One name made it a bad fit Rodney Stuckey

I like what Rich Cho is doing at the Bobcats, I hope he gets enough time to finish what he's started.

Since he was hired in 2011:
Moved Stephen Jackson, Shaun Livingston and draft pick (Tobias Harris) for Corey Maggette and draft pick (Bismark Biyombo)

Traded 2013 second rounder for Byron Mullens

Drafted Kemba Walker and Bismark Biyombo

Waived Boris Diaw

Traded Corey Maggette for Ben Gordon and future first round draft pick

That's some darn good dealing for a team with zero assets, though they could have gotten something for the fat man.

Turning Stephen Jackson, Livingston and Harris into Gordon, Biyombo and a future first is pretty amazing.

They likely don't keep Gordon around for long, I wouldn't be shocked to see him traded next year in a similar deal for another player and a pick or two.

I expect they are trying to trade DJ Augustin and Tyrus Thomas. I wouldn't be surprised if they trade the #2 also. Trading down makes a ton of sense.

Will be interesting to watch and see what they can pull off before the draft.

hopefully gordon can start over and get back to the dynamic and proven scorer he was at chicago, loved watching him there... he should be a nice veteran presence for the team as well as someone to help kemba grow
The playoff series with the Celtics/Bulls with Allen and Gordon trading dagger 3's was a classic

Without a doubt. That is my favorite series. Every game was a battle

all they need to do is draft a star either next year or the year after (maybe a Nerlens Noel/Shabazz Muhammed) and they will be in really good shape...i am so pissed that BG left Chicago though. He and rose were so much fun to watch!...and thats coming from a celts fan!

a nice backcourt of kemba and gordon with BB at the 4/5... now they need to grab another 4/5 and its a start
Some of Kemba's game reminded me of Ben. It will be interesting seeing them play together, assuming they'll be on the floor together from time to time. Now I realize that Ben sets up his J by having somewhat of a threat to drive the ball, while Kemba sets up his drive by having a threat to knock down outside Js. Ben is the better jumpshooter while Kemba the better driver, but both are on the smallish side and are double threat offensive players. Kemba has more PG instincts while Ben has very little in that department.

It would seem that they would be a huge liability defensively against a team that has a big backcourt if they're on the court at the same time. What worries me, is Charlotte seems to be the black hole when it comes to player development. As good a player MJ was, he turns gold into yarn when it comes to putting a team together.

It is a shame that the NCAA came down so hard on Duke for what Maggette did. Oh, wait...nevermind!

I actually feel sorry for Ben though. Going to a crappy team with no hope of ever getting to the playoffs in the short run.
Agree, except, hopefully BG gets his due playing time. If he starts with Kemba (Augustine), that's gonna be one hell of a dynamic backcourt.

the only similarity i see is the high arching shot which i love... i can see them possibly going zone or doubling when they get posted in the paint

I agree with this. As much fun as it will be to watch Kemba and Gordon in the same backcourt, it still pains me that Ben hasn't gotten the chance to fulfill his destiny as a third or fourth option on a contender who can just explode for 45 points at any time.

IMO, the Bulls win the championship last year if they still have Gordon. On another note, it's going to be fun to watch this dynamic play out in Charlotte. Kemba and Gordon aren't exactly superstars, but on this team, their useage rates will probably be as high as any combination in the league. I see them combining for an inefficient, but exciting 40+ PPG.

Draft Kidd-Gilchrist or T-Rob and I think this is a 20 win team.
