... well, you know, the truth is, we've all had a rough few years as UConn Football fans. It's been brutal. Lackluster seasons. Missing bowl games. Being the big loser in conference realignment musical chairs. I don't blame people for a little optimism and a little hope. Let people feel SOMEthing good about this program. I'm not sure I'm ready to join them, and there's still a billion question marks, but I certainly don't blame anybody for at least trying to find a little silver lining in the nonstop monsoon season we've been going through for the least 2 and a half years.

The UConn women debuted a new alternate jersey Saturday: matching shimmering silver jerseys and shorts, with white numbers and "UCONN" in blue letters across the chest.

It'll probably be a long time before we see them again.

"Yeah, that turned out good, didn't it?" Auriemma said with a laugh at his postgame news conference [after losing to Duke].

When asked if Auriemma planned to burn the new jerseys, he replied, "There's already a fire going."

Thing is, Weist is a winner (Cincinnati) while P's claim to fame was some good years a long time ago at Syracuse. We had warnings from SU fans after the hire (and some "told you so's" after the firing) but nothing like that after Weist was named Interim Coach.
