  • BG with 8 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist in 8 minutes of play in the first quarter
  • DT wit 5 points and 4 assists in 8 minutes of play in the first quarter
Man they are going to be a great team!

I suspect Japan may be 'undersized'??

Like I said on Rebkell, I'd not get too excited about Brittney's stats against a very much smaller team. :p

She'll have to average 45 a game for you to be excited about her. (-:

Nah. I most likely wouldn't be excited by that either. :p:cool:

I'm sure she'll have a great season, but I'm rooting for EDD for ROY. :D

So the "3 to see" pre-season stats.

Griner- 18 points, 6-10 FG, 8 rebounds, 1 AST, 1 BLK, 3 fouls in 22 mins. 1 game/1 win
EDD- 17 points, 6-9 FG, 2-3 from three, 3 rebounds, 2 AST, 2 blocks, 0 fouls in 22 mins 1 game/1 win
Diggins- 6.5 PPG, 23% from the floor, 1.5 RPG, 2.0 APG, 2.5 SPG, 3.50 turnovers per-game in 25 mins in two losts.

Don't look now Skylar but the huge gap between you and the other two is showing. :p

Yes, I know it's only pre-season but still Skylar is stinking it up.

Skylar did not play today. It was graduation at Notre Dame this weekend. Tulsa won handily over the Sparks.

She played the Shock's first two pre-season games against Atlanta, and Seattle though and the Shock lost both of those games, and they played much better without her. :p

A player that EDD inadvertantly made me familiar with, Angel Goodrich, played quite nicely at PG for Tulsa against LA.

Yes, I thought so too. Although she needs to get her TOs down, though I think she'll make the roster to backup Diggins.

I had Goidrich in my top 10. She is a dynamic player that can score and dish. If not for all the hype surrounding the 3-to-C I think Goidrich could challenge for the starting PG position.

Coler, you should go to every game if you love WBB. Getting to see DT and BG play together is an incredible opportunity to get to see a couple of the best players in WBB on the same team.

I have to admit, I'm one of those who thought Griner would struggle more than EDD in her first year. From what I understand, Japan was NOT a big team. Not sure what conclusions you can draw from one game, but it's nice to see her with such a large scoring output, even if it wasn't against a WNBA team. Next game we will see her tested more. Go PHX!

My not going to every game doesn't have anything to do with my love for WBB. It has to do with perhaps I don't like BG, and DT enough to watch them every-game, or I could be at home watching other teams play on Live-Access.

Just because I've lived in PHX for a little over a year, doesn't mean I like the Merc. I have planned to go to a few games later on in the summer if things pan out.

So since I love WBB so much, I should totally become a ASU, and U of A fan too and go to every game? :p:rolleyes:

More interesting to me(and important to the Merc), how is the returning Penny?

Apparently from what I've heard she's not ready for real minutes, still working her way back. So Bonner will get the starting spot next Monday.

let's not forget that with Taylor, Dupree, and Dee healthy, the Phoenix were already a championship team along with Bonner and company. With this supporting cast, Griner should have plenty of time to get accustomed to the speed and play of the WNBA game.
