Diana decided to show the world she can still be the best player on earth.

At half, Dee has 26 points (6-10 from 3) and 4 assists 0 TO's and 2 BS and is handling the ball like a work of art.

Sky and Kia help Phoenix to close it out. This gives Seattle a little separation.

Can the GOAT make a late push for MVP?

Amazing. The GOAT at her age with another 30 point game. As long as she stays healthy anything is possible.

I told y'all Phoenix was playing better without Griner. Now Phoenix has forced their way into that logjam at the top, 1-6.

Vaughn has been playing very well.

DT has, even in her decline has been capable of putting up points when she was on. The problem with players of her age is consistency. Her bad bad games used to also be productive. Now not so much so.

Diana is in a world class groove since she she wore Kobe's number.

With BG and Bria Hartley out, she knows she needs to be the top player on her team if they are to make a run in the playoffs. I expect great performances from now on.

In Last nights game, her confidence and demeanor were sky high. 'Dismissive' of her opponents.
The number she did on McBride.

In response to a posters question as to why Griner plays so many minutes, I responded that she was such a unique player that the team has a hard time adjusting to when she was not on the floor. This works the other way around as well. The team has adjusted its game to match up with Griner. With her gone the rest of the team might certanly be more productive. This is something that fans often don't consider. The adjustments to their game that players often have to make when playing with certan other players. There are many instances of teams playing better when they lose the best player on their team. The problem with talented players is that often teammates adjust themselves to compliment their games and often the trade off is not worth it in respect to style of play.

Watching the game now............they've already said Wilson is MVP. Also said if Phoenix makes a deep run in the playoffs, Diggins and Dee will be in the discussion. I thought MVP was decided before the playoffs?

It’s supposed to be based on the regular season. Not sure when they vote.

I did too. Not sure why they mentioned the playoffs. Maybe the announcers just don't know.

And of course that makes sense since it's linked to the health. And in her case she has had problems with that back for an awful long time.

Most of these announcers are chomping at the bit to give it to Wilson. She's very good but to me Stewie is the best and makes others around her better. And when she plays, Delle Donne is like that too.

Stewie and EDD when both are healthy, are the 2 best in the world. They can rebound
the defensive board, and bring the ball up and make a play on the offensive end.

As of now, I think it's a close race. If Seattle finishes ahead of Las Vegas and Stewie's numbers stay strong, I think she wins by a small margin. Wilson is very good, but Stewie is also very good and more versatile.

My personal ranking:

Stewie
A'ja
Pheesa
Sloot
Diana
Candace

I think you have Diana too high unless she plays the last 7 games like she has played the last 4 games. Diggins seems to be having a better season overall

and I guess I would put Sloot ahead of Pheesa

I expect Diana, if healthy, to average 20+ ppg the rest of the way and make a run at the scoring title.

After last night, I may edge Phee down a little. But she's in the conversation. I'd also add Bonner to the mix.

Seems like Sky Digg has benefited the most from BG being gone, she went from being the 3rd option to 2nd and has way more confidence now.

How is 27 points tonight? Will people notice? ;)

Sky had 28, but needed more shots. :)

I will be happy to reverse them in my eyes and if she can do what she is doing now for the rest of the season, done deal,. But Sklyar is still playing at an near MVP level. She had 8 Assists as well. If the Mercury get some of their players back. look out even as a 5th / 6th seed

Sky's shooting percentage is surprisingly good. I knew she was an excellent FT shooter, but she's become an elite 3-point shooter (again). She had 4 seasons under 30%, but was at 44.8% in 2015 and is at 42.2% this year. She's shooting an excellent 48/42/90.
