Looks like this lineup with McCowan, dupree, mitchell, allemond, and Vivians is working.

Fun game. Mercury showing a little fight. Down only 3 at half 56-53. Bria Hartley playing pretty well and shooting her 3's

At 24 secs left, DT made a three. I thought she was fouled and should make 3 FTs.
But why Indiana mad 2 FTs? I am lost ....

She wasn't fouled. Contact was after the ball left and defender had arms straight up is what announcers stated.

106-100 IND final

TMitchell 24 pts, 4 reb, 2 ast

Hartley 26 pts, 3 reb, 5 ast off the bench

What is scary for the rest of the league is that Indiana is playing street ball for the most part. If they ever get the sets down. Maybe 25% of what they ran were actual plays.

I was suspect to Stanley after watching game 1 but once Indiana learns how to play defense watch out. The Mitchell’s are a tough matchup for just about anyone and I think Lauren Cox will add some much needed rim protection and extra rebounding. McCowan rarely misses anything around the rim and Vivians has found her shooting stroke. Once they get Wheeler back Indiana will definitely have playoff potential.

Brittney Griner - 7 rebounds
Teaira McCowan - 13 rebounds

Not saying T is better than Griner, but everything else being equal, T's rebounding is the difference in a 6 point game. Just saying.

Cunningham is not great making layups on the move. Gotta practice those, Sophie.

Glad to see Stanford Alum Alanna Smith have a solid game 5-9, 2-4 3pt, 3o/4d rebounds, 2 assists, and a block in 20 minutes. She struggled a lot last year, esp. w/ her 3pt shot, which was often money in college.

Meanwhile, looks like Big T had a stellar game and almost twice the rebounds as Griner, who had nearly as many turnovers and fouls as rebounds, and no blocks. Guess you can't teach effort...

The coach for Indiana has to stop overthinking the matchups like she did against Washington and just keep playing McCowan. If McCowan is getting easy offensive put backs against Griner, she’s doing it against all the teams.
