Or in that beloved awkward voice:

What do you want me to do
To do for you to see you through?
It's all a dream we dreamed
One afternoon long ago

Walk into splintered sunlight
Inch your way through dead dreams to another land
Maybe you're tired and broken
Your tongue is twisted with words half spoken
And thoughts unclear

On the ride home from work I heard the Empire State Building is lit up in tie-dye colors for Phil. Nice gesture on their part.*

May he rest in peace

* A coworker came to my firm from ESRT (Empire State Regional Trust, a real estate holdings company/property management firm that among other assets owns the Empire State Building). Allegedly the guy who runs the firm is a huge Dead fan. I'll take this as evidence that he is.

First time I saw the Dead was Hartford’82. They played “Phil's Earthquake Jam “ where Phil hit a note that shook the Ciic Center and made this ethereal dust rain down through the lights. It was surreal.
Could it have been the LSD?

I had that tape as a kid in the 90's. Iconic show.

4/18/82. Anniversary of the '06 SF quake. Indeed! I was there, first memory I shared yesterday. Rewatched the video. Not aware if it was ever repeated. Searching for the Sound is a good read. RIP.

I know I'm not the only head that lurks the yard.

Grateful for all the amazing memories.
I was surprised by a number of friends I knew to not be Deadheads or listeners who posted heartfelt memories & impressions of Phil. I've never seen so many like that before.
