Let's throw him out there a few more games to get his tits ripped huh JOe and Brian?

Guy looks awful, isn't ready yet they find the need to fire him out there, WTF are they thinking? He's BP right now..........

Looked like this thread worked.....he's turned it around

He wasnt bad last year and pitched well in the playoffs, so he may not be the ace we all thought he would be but he looks like he can be a quality number 3 starter, he is still just 26. Hes better then Nova at least.

NY has a tough decision on Hughes - sign him, offer a qualifying contract or let him go as a free agent after this year? Phelps - $500K, Hughes $13 million or so.

He is a stiff. I hope Yanks give him 5 years and $50 mill or whatever....

If Pineida is healthy he's decent bait for a NL team with a big park........hopefully!!

You might be right, but $13 mil, really? Nuno would die for 1 mil! But you're also correct in saying that it's a tough decision.

The problem with Hughes is he just doesn't have a #1 pitch. it's not his curve or his changeup. At times his straight fastball gets him by, maybe he hides it well on certain days or pumps it up to 93-94 instead of 91-92.. but he can't put guys away on a consistent basis.
Of course once you hit the FA market it only takes 1 or 2 teams to think you're better than you are to all of a sudden turn it into a 3/35 type of deal or maybe even 4/44
