Sure, it's still early in the spring signing period, but we still don't have a true pure point guard. Adams is the only thing close to a PG on this upcoming team, and he could even be considered a 2. Terrence Samuel will never be a ball handling, floor general PG, and Purvis seems to play best off the ball.
We missed out severely on Trey Lewis- an experienced ball handler and above average 3 PT shooter. It hurts even more that L'ville snatched him.
This team won't be much different next year, and I don't think Adams is necessarily an upgrade over Boatright at this point (he has a ton of upside, but he's still going to be a freshman). We are banking on Purvis, Hamilton and Brimah improving greatly to lead us to the tourney, but that's hard to see since our offense was so stagnant most of 2014-15.
Anybody know of potential fifth year transfer, floor general PGs that could make an impact? We could also really use a 3 PT specialist and another small forward. Coming off a championship just a year ago, there's no excuses for Ollie to roll into next season with 3 open scholarships (extremely unlikely he would do that). Otherwise, this team won't be much different from last year, and there's only so many options for a "veteran" PG that can come in immediately and make an impact ...
